This seems about right, it’s just a little late. The terrorist planned on killing people, succeeded in doing it, and is now getting marriage proposals in prison.

And for the bleeding hearts who say life in prison is worse than the death sentence, well consider the DP a favor to the thug.

Hey, now. This crime happened so long ago I don't know how I feel about the death penalty being reinstated in this case.

I had forgotten the Boston bomber even existed.

Aren't we getting towards the statute of limitations or something?

Oh, well. He killed a bunch of people. Let them decide.

PS I don't think prison is worse than death. Unless they have hard labor.

Send the little jihadi pressure cooker bomber to hell with my warmest regards. Every day he's still breathing is an insult to the innocent people he helped murder in Boston that day.

Except it's a pile of crap, because Biden has already forsworn the death penalty.

Amy Barrett has a question for the Biden admin: Why are you asking for a death penalty you won't carry out?

    Cool Cookie Amy nails it.
Like most things with Dundering Joe, its an assorted pile of politicized crap. The bumbling fools of the Biden Legal Team, who in sum are actually dumber than he is claim that it's to "respect the decision of the jury." Except that is yet another pile of crap because the moratorium on executions already substitutes Dumb Joe's views for the jurys on the proper punishment.
The fight to "reinstate Tsarnaev’s death sentence" is "a PR stunt by which Biden wants to eat his cake and have it too. The Boston community was outraged over the terrorist attack and then by the overturning of the death sentence. Biden wants to look tough on terrorists, and the political value in that sense of opposing the overturning of the sentence is obvious. But Biden also wants to pander to the progressives — and moderates as well as some conservatives — in opposing the death penalty, so there’s zero chance that his administration will perform this execution. It’s a waste of court time and resources to argue this, at least in the context of the Biden administration."

And, in peeling back the onion layers on Biden's politicized crap the moratorium itself is yet another politicized stunt. Biden doesn't "need to issue a moratorium to stop executions. He has plenary clemency powers and could have just issued commutations to all federal prisoners on Death Row that reduced their sentences to life without parole. That would have removed the need for any moratorium, but would have put the onus on the change directly on Biden. And Biden doesn’t want to assume that kind of political risk. So he is fighting to reimpose "a death penalty verdict that Biden explicitly opposed as late as November 2020."
And that sums up the Biden Administration, farce piled on farce with each layer cubed.

Three full meals a day + snacks, laundry service, security, instant access to free healthcare, free education, internet, cable tv, phone, recreation, and the option to identify as female and get housed with hundreds of eager ladies. If I ever end up homeless I'm not gonna find a bridge to sleep under I'm going to commit crimes and get setup in club fed. Prison life is pretty damn good these days.

You give the impression of someone who has never set foot inside a maximum security prison. It ain’t no country club.

    Most people never have.

But that's not the question here. He should have been executed a month after the bombings. There's no doubt of his guilt and he deserves it. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Truly yes and no. Death is merciful for most lifers and they deserve no mercy.

I agree there is no doubt about his guilt.

I am, however, philosophically opposed to execution. I used not to be, but there have been so many cases of wrongful convictions that I think it should be eliminated. Life with no parole is fine.

As for this particular case, I think it is the DOJ wanting to reverse a case that they think was wrongly decided. The DOJ under Biden is independent. If Biden chooses to put a moratorium on executions, that’s an executive decision. But the DOJ wants the case decided properly (in their view).

Without looking them up can you rattle off 5 or 10 of them?

How many guilty murderers have been let out only to murder again? Once they are executed they are incapable of further crime.

I can’t name any off the top of my head. Why should that matter? There have been a number of convictions that have been proven wrong, whether I can name the individuals or not.

You obviously have a different philosophical approach. Ok. After a lot of reflection, I’m comfortable with mine. Being against the death penalty is not the same as being soft on crime.

Lifers shouldn’t be executed. They should be used in clinical trials or for organ harvesting so they can give back to society and some good can come out of it instead of sucking up tax dollars

Gitmo spent ~$800,000 to build a soccer field for its Muslimi terrorist. There are worse ways to live than in prison. Just ask America's homeless population which doesn't even get a fraction of what our most vile felons get.

Because if they were so egregious, they would stick out in your mind.

    Remember:

    1) Just because the media claims someone is "proven innocent" doesn't mean they really are.

    2) There's a difference between being truly innocent and not guilty of a particular crime. If a gang member that has been involved in numerous shootings is sentenced to death for a murder where he didn't pull the trigger, I don't count that as being "innocent".

Justice will never be 100%, but 100% of executed murderers will not murder again.

As I said, it sounds like you have never bee in a maximum security prison. I have.

If you think you would choose that over homelessness … well that would be your choice but I suspect that experiencing a week of each would change your mind. Probably a day of each would be enough.

Could be. Or maybe I just need to wait until enough liberal reforms have set in.

agree, LWOP is a long time, and no walk in the park

if I was falsely accused, I would fight at first to prove my innocence, but at some point, I would give up and want to be put out of my misery

We should give anyone on a life sentence the right to take a 12ga slug to the back of the head if they so choose.

Why do the killer any favors??? I say let him rot in jail. Each day is a living hell for someone in jail for the rest of their lives. I don't think I could live in a cage for the rest of my life, that would be torture to me.
