CNN kept the notice of Powell's death up for about 8 hours. They've had this TDS nothing burger up all day. So its pretty funny that CNN would give lecture about 'the bottom' considering they own 100% of the real estate there.

 

Yet again, this speaks to those that voted for biden and does not reflect on trump in any way at all.

The actual Trump statement per his website was a mere three sentences as quoted below. Not a Tolstoy length statement as the OP suggests. I go to Trump for Trump statements. Not to CNN.

Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media. Hope that happens to me someday. He was a classic RINO, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans. He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!

These three sentences don't really seem to be anything to get hysterical over. Let's take the first sentence about mistakes and the so-called weapons of mass destruction. Is this not a factual sentence. The weapons of mass destruction claim by Powell was a pretext to start a war that Bush was planning at his first Cabinet meeting before 9/11 ever happened. Bush Treasury Secretary O'Neill mentions this in his bio. WMD weapons never turned up after the war. Thousand dead and maimed at a cost of Trillions of dollars. The second sentence, "hope that happens to me some day." What's wrong with that sentence? And the third sentence about Powell being a RINO. Not sure if this is true. I heard Powell speak during the Obama administration and he sounded like a straight up Democrat. Calling him a RINO was probably giving him the benefit of the doubt. The fact is that any mention of Trump generates hysteria in threads like this because liberals are very afraid that Trump will again be President. Cause they know they don't at this point have a contender that could carry Trump's jock strap.

Was Trump's statement Regarding General Powell ideal or perfect. Now it was not perfect and not even a good statement. It lacked class. Some statements about Powell's military service and Secretary of State service should have been mentioned. Some condolences for his family, etc. would have been appropriate. But the three sentence statement was nothing to get hysterical or start crying about.
