They invent rules. Congress Jordan only wanted to show a video on his time. Democrats shut that off. And fast. So why did Democrats fear a video?
I have read Democrats allege Republicans get to make amendments. But not substantive amendments. They get limited to procedural amendments. This act by Nadler and the woman show how Democrats choke off Republicans.
I hope you learn now how dishonest the Democrats really are. And can discuss it truthfully.

 

After falsely accusing kavanaugh of rape and that circus act we saw, I'll never expect even the most basic modicum of class from any Democrat.

They all turned a blind eye to Hunter Biden and the evidence of his involvement in the Ukraine with his dad and some international extortion.

the committee rules require 48 hours to show a video. jordon was not prevented from showing his video, he was required to follow the protocol (required by the committee rules, which every member of all parties is required to follow) of submitting the video 48 hours before showing it. if the vodeo is that important he will follow the rules and show the video after the required delay.

Jordan wanted to play a video. There was an objection. The objection was sustained by the chair citing House protocol. Incidentally the protocol was instituted by the former chair Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) of the Judiciary Committee (2013-2019).

It’s a good illustration of what is so tiring about Republicans wingnuts.
The conspiratorial whining over either their lack of knowledge of Committee rules and regulations (protocol) or belief that it doesn’t apply to them.

It's a disclosure protocol, there's a similar practice in criminal courts across the country. The idea is when you introduce documents or evidence (whether it be paper, digital, video, ect), you're supposed to disclose what you are going to show in advance so the other side can assess it and be ready with their own response.

What I find interesting is first Jordan argues that there is no such rule, and then later acknowledges it exists but argues that it is a "protocol" and not a rule. Which is a moot argument for someone to make on multiple levels considering 1. the definition of the word "protocol" is "a system of rules that explain the correct conduct and procedures to be followed in formal situations" and 2. regardless of whether you want to refer to a formal practice as a rule or a protocol, you still are required to abide it, just like everyone else. The same applies for each document a Democrat might present at the hearings. If they fail to disclose their documents to the committee before presenting them at the hearing, anyone can make an objection.
