absolutely freaking hilarious! Here is the Australian response to the idea of America invading Australia to “liberate” us

I mean the Americans are welcome here anytime - in fact they were just here a couple of months ago for Operation Talisman Sabre

But I will warn you - try and invade and we will hide the beer and feed you Vegemite!!! :p

The drop bears would get most of them anyway, the magpies would get the rest.
No sane country would invade Australia.

Candice Owens is selling to her target market, Trump supporters. It's very lucrative, the way you get these folks to open their pockets out of fear and anger.

    Why what?
The article explains it quite well and it is a phenomena I have hit many many times on this board

The firm belief that Australia is a totalitarian society because we DARED to enact gun legislation and now we have added salt to the wound by also daring to enforce pandemic response action and kept our infection rate and death rate as low as we could

I should have posted this in the humour section - so far the response from Main stream media has been hilarious!

I kinda like Candace Owens. She is basically an internet troll who worked out that there is one thing right wing white people just can't resist - black people telling them exactly what they want to hear. It is like crack cocaine to them, and the moment thay get some they lose what few rational faculties they have. I don't know if she believes half the stuff she says. I'm pretty sure she isn't bright enough to understand half the stuff she repeats (her Praeger U video on how white people owning black people was OK is laugh out loud funny), but she is bright enough to get money off people who will never accept her as an equal.

    Good luck to her.

I'm sure Aussies appreciate this no more than we appreciate them trying to 'save us' from our gun rights... Its their country, they can run it how they see fit. Besides, we got people here trying to make us like them. Lets focus on not doing that, first.

Australia should chart its own path, I like that the states have expanded their power, but I hate what they're doing.

If my fellow Australians want this that's fine, as soon as I can get out I am.

It's not just COVID policy, it's many things. I quit smoking after being on 2 packs a day, using a vape. Now I'm a criminal. Every interest or hobby I have is either prohibited or heavily regulated.

All I have here is family. The only thing Australia has going for it at the moment is the wide open space.

This is off topic but congratulations on giving up smoking and bad luck with the vape legislation. I can't decide whether I think it's good legislation or not. In your case it's a bad thing but I don't like seeing teens sucking on those things.

Have you been able to find an alternative?

Nah just still vaping. I'd rather be fined than dead, I have tried quitting smoking multiple times and have always ended up back on them and more than I smoked before.

I don't like seeing teens on them either, it should be a felony to supply them with any nicotine product.

Anyway, I ran for state Parliament, I've been very involved in civic life and I love this country to bits, but there is too great a divide between me and my fellow citizens.

Rather than seek to change Australia against their will it seems like a better idea to move. An amicable split. I should have the means to do so within a few years.
