    Or, is it?

I'm so damn sick and tired of leftists complaining about restaurant's tip wages and the poor things haven't gotten a raise to that base in years and how that is peanuts to live on. I was a manager at Pizza Hut eons ago and most of the full time waitresses made more money than I did.

If a job doesn't pay a living wage find one you are qualified for that does pay a living wage. Working people sell their skills, but some don't have skills, or their skills aren't worth paying for.

Waiting is essentially a commission-based job, and I'm sure that sexually-oriented businesses like Hooters probably tend to pay out more in tips, much like strip clubs allegedly do.

Nah, what's falsely being called "skills" (but are actually just "credentials") at the bare minimum are just one step above complete illiteracy to the point that under normal circumstances, a person with an IQ of 100 or less and no other intellectual or moral qualifications should be able to do them.

Not to mention that the primary cause of "not being able to earn a living wage" is having unplanned children, or more children than one can reasonably financially or otherwise support (so if we could just stop people from having children without a minimum amount of responsibility required, we could solve a lot of the potential "poverty" traps").

Obviously these pseudo "skills" aren't anywhere on the level of aptitude of an individual such as Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Ray Dalio, and so forth.

Doesn't matter what the rank and file thinks is "worth or not worth paying for", since a lot of them are fools who either don't know or don't care what's good for themselves.

So of course they can and often are required to pay for the work of others (such as in the case of any government employee such as police officers and members of the US military organizations) whether they quaintly and irrelevently think that the "skills" in question are worth paying for or not. And that's not necessarily a bad thing either.

The vast majority of wait people make far more the $2/hr. They simply get paid directly by patrons instead of indirectly through a middle man called the boss/manager. The left and Democrats fuss about "$2/hr" simply because it is one more thing they can twist and spin trying to justify their drive for political power.

We had a brand name steakhouse open in our little burg several years ago....they had a "collectivist" sort of policy that ALL tips were collected at the end of a shift and distributed equally among the staff...they literally bled waitstaff and bartenders....they made it about 6 months before closing down.
