They mostly are voting Democrats by 80%-90% That's pretty close to monolithic although it does seem to be swinging to the Republicans even in baby steps.

You know I agreed with your first statement people who think their race is better, no matter what race they are white, black, asian, etc, don't necessarily have to be "anti" other races. But then you dropped the names of two conservative blacks, I don't get what your point there are you saying they are white supremist or something?

She has the Trump problem, but without the commitment. She is an outsider and doesn’t know how things work, and people hate her already. She has a slim to none chance of being on the 2024 ticket, and knows it. Local rumor is that intense charm school and government/foreign affairs are helping, but the democrats are facing a bleak three to seven years, possibly longer due to Biden’s ham handed attempt at stuffing socialism down our throats on a party line vote.
It should bring little glee to the Republicans who will get the chore of tackling so every serious issues. The bright spot is the departure of Pelosi, and her glee at torpedoing bipartisanship at every juncture.

For me that's all I really want in the end. I've never been a party loyalist as I've always voted for PEOPLE, not for whoever had a (D) or (R) next to their name. Hell I voted for a Democrat Presidential candidate every single time until 2016. For me personally it was the "New" Democrat Party that pushed me over the edge and has forced me to be what I always criticized others for being and that's a strict party voter. It's gotten to the point now to where damn near every Democrat candidate all the way from the local school board to the White House has the same baseline agenda or at least supports that agenda in some fashion and it's horrifying. It's that "Progressive" style ideology. I don't want that and I will never support any candidate who supports that vision of America.

I have no real qualms with traditional Democrats, I was one for my entire life up until 5 years ago and I have no issue whatsoever voting for a Democrat if that party goes back to NORMAL. The Democrats have allowed Progressive ideology to infect that Party to the point where I have nobody left to vote for now so I vote for the other team unanimously. I seriously hope this whole thing is a wake up call to the Democrat Party and they start purging these Progressives from their ranks and start working towards fulfilling the campaign promise they ran on of "getting back to normalcy".

There is damn near nothing "normal" about Progressive ideology in America. I didn't change, the Democrat Party changed, a lot of these Republicans nowadays would be traditional Democrats 20 years ago and I would have voted for the same type of PERSON then too. The problem is that the new Democrat Party has gone so radical to the Progressive Left that what would be a normal Democrat years ago is now reclassified as a Republican somehow. I remember a time when both Democrats and Republicans would openly laugh and reject this new "Progressive agenda" but now one Party has decided to embrace it. Come back towards the center and you'll find me there waiting as I've always been. Keep pushing "Progress" and I'll cheer every time a Republican crushes a Democrat in any election because right now with the Progressive infection poisoning the Party a 100% pure Republican/Conservative super majority controlling everything is still better than that.

And this is coming from someone who waited in line for hours to vote for Barack Obama and has dozens of Bill Maher DVD's sitting under my entertainment center from years past...

Sabato throws his reputation away, reveals himself as yet another shrill blind partisan hack.

Krugmanesque hysteric Sabato claims Glenn Youngkin’s victory was a triumph of white supremacy.

@LarrySabato says, if @GlennYoungkin wins, it'll be b/c of white power & accepting lies: "The operative word is...race. That is what matters...There's a lot of...white backlash, white resistance, whatever you want to call it...We live in a post-factual era[.]" #VAgov

    What an idiot.

Another clown: MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace: "Critical Race Theory, which isn’t real, turned the suburbs 15 points to the Trump insurrection endorsed Republican."

Claimed this was all “white backlash”

Virginia votes as poll expert says “white backlash” could power Republican win.

By promising at nearly every campaign stop to ban critical race theory, an advanced academic concept not taught in Virginia schools, Mr. Youngkin resurrected Republican race-baiting tactics in a state that once served as the capital of the Confederacy.

They hate you Virginia, never forget that. To them you are the easy girl that they will pretend to like as long as you keep putting out. But, if you want to be heard, valued and listened to, you made the right choice.

Expect this incendiary mix of children and racism to be chapter one of the Republican playbook in next year’s midterm elections for Congress.

To these race obsessed idiots, "white backlash" accounts for the election of a black lieutenant governor, the first black woman to win statewide office in Virginia, and a Hispanic attorney general. Some Democrats really don't mind looking stupid, I'll give them that.

"Youngkin carried Hispanic voters by a wide margin, 55%-44%. And he scored well with black voters."

    "Youngkin flipped HD-75, a majority-black district."
"Youngkin nearly doubled Trump’s share of the black women’s vote"

The racists that elected an African American immigrant woman as Lt. Gov. and a Hispanic American son of immigrants as their state AG at the same time?

A lot of folks may see that as an insult or offensive but to me, as a black guy, I say GOOD.

I argued this years ago on this very forum when this "white guilt" nonsense first started to creep into the mainstream. I said this was absolutely horrible and NOBODY should be ok with this. I specifically stated that to me, as a minority who knows full well what racism looks like, what I'm seeing going on right around feels a whole lot like racism against white people and an ideology of "our turn now" for a lot of minorities. Plenty of folks came out agreeing with me and plenty apologetics came out arguing against me and defending it for a wide variety of reasons. I said something along the lines of white folks may put up with this for a little while but they aren't going to just stand there and relentlessly criticized and attacked forever. Nor should they.

So if the media wants to try to beat the drums and paint these election results as the result of "white backlash" then I say GREAT. It's about damn time. Racism of any kind whatsoever against ANYBODY whether implied or direct or subtle is wrong, period. No there is no justification for it due to history or any of that nonsense. And if parts of society or the media want to paint pushback against this ideology as "white backlash" or some other pseudonym for "white supremacy" or "racism" then so be it. If any other group were vilified the way whites have been over the past few years for simply existing then I would fully expect them to stand up and start swinging back at some point too. And I'm glad more and more minorities are seeing through this nonsense and are beginning to stand up and start swinging too.

It's not "white backlash", the other two people Virginia just elected were first and second generation minority immigrants....elected by the same angry "white backlash" Virginians. These folks aren't racists or white supremacists or any of that ace in the hole talking point trash. They are simply folks who have had about enough of being called all of those things for no reason whatsoever.

Lets not forget- the guy who basically said 'you don't get a say in what we teach your children' was still only 2-3% away from winning governorship of a whole state.

This aint exactly a victory, its just not quite a defeat.

It's a victory in the sense that the guy who said parents shouldn't get a say in what we teach your children was supposed to win fairly easily according to polls. This victory is, albeit by a small margin, is a huge shot across the bow for Progressive ideology. Progressive Democrats have been getting extremely bold in pushing their agenda with the belief that they were running away with the country and there was nothing anybody could really do to stop them. So bold to where the Governor would even have the audacity to say something like that out loud and even have a former damn President go up on stage and say something similar in support of that entire belief.

I said this about 4 or 5 years ago, Progressives are trying to change way too much way too fast and they believe that if they just keep their heads down and push and push and push they'll eventually break through the other side and be victorious in radically changing the very moral foundation of the country. They're "new normal" would then be "normal" and they would have won. I believed (hoped) that they would instead eventually crash head first into a brick wall and knock themselves out. After watching society rapidly change recently I thought perhaps I was wrong and they would actually be able to pull this off. But this election in Virginia I believe was the first brick in that brick wall that has finally showed up.

It didn't knock them out by any means, but it's about damned time they at least got dealt a proverbial fat lip and shown that their ideology is not going to get crammed down America's throat unopposed. Plus this has greatly energized voters. It has shown that "Progress" is not inevitable and if enough normal people get out and actually vote then yes you CAN actually defeat this stuff in spite of what social media and the news says.

I can relate. I was a JFK Democrat and a member of the New Left in my youth, and what's happened to the former is a product of what happened to the latter. It's part of a long process that began in the late 1940s with Henry Wallace & Co.'s "progressives" who walked out of the Democratic Party on account of Harry Truman's uncompromising opposition to Stalin and the Soviet Union and was interrupted until the late 1960s when their "progressive" progeny forced their way (and views) back into the party during the height of the Vietnam War. Were it not for the Cold War and the Cold Warriors (JFK, et al) in the Democratic Party, what we're seeing today - the triumph of the "progressive" Long March through the Democratic Party - would have occurred decades ago. The party has been on this trajectory for a long time, and it's largely a reflection of the unfortunate demise of the New Left. Once the "progressives" ideologically purified the individualists from the ranks of the New Left, all that was left was the Old Left, and voilà - here we and the Democratic Party are. Obviously, there are a few "traditional" Democrats like Joe Manchin left, but as we can see they are a fading minority not only in the party but in the ideological and political Left.

It's on account of this long-running trend and the indoctrination of the next generation of young proles that I don't hold out any hope that this process will be reversed. As an acorn is destined to become an oak, not a maple or a pine, the New Left was destined to become the Old Left, and in this case the New Left acorn didn't fall far from the Old Left tree. I used to kid myself that this wasn't inevitable but it is. The Left has changed and the Democratic Party has changed with it.

I'm wondering the same thing about you.

    Your point? ...

Ok, here's your chance to educate me. What is CRT?

... because that's precisely what a number of them are doing.

No, it isn't. Even Terry McAwful HIMSELF platformed his campaign upon the concept that parents don't get a say in their own children's education...

    Projection, as QED'd above...

    A few more fun facts:

That's the 75th District and Democrat Roslyn Tyler was the incumbent. A Republican challenger, Kim Taylor, also won the majority Black 63rd District to its immediate north, so between the two districts you're looking at a good chunk of South Central Virginia.

Both of those outcomes were a little bit surprising but in some respects they aren't, and the reasons why they aren't surprising is what makes them interesting and notable:

    1) As we noted, both districts are majority Black

    2) The 75th is a rural, agricultural district as is most of the 63rd, except for its northern reaches in Petersburg and western Chesterfield County

    3) Politically speaking, both of these districts could be considered deep purple. Most of the folks on both sides of the aisle are moderates who are a little liberal about some things and a little conservative about others, so there's not a lot of difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. Because of that, they provide a good glimpse into the shifting of the political winds in Virginia and to some extent the country, so it's no surprise that the results in the 63rd and 75th reflect the result at the state level (and I anticipate will reflect the results at the national level in 2022). In fact, it was Kim Taylor's victory in the 63rd that put Republicans over the top in the House of Delegates where they turned a 10 seat minority into a 2 seat majority.

What happened in the 63rd and 75th also reflects how a majority of independents and the suburbs that are political battlegrounds swung Republican. For example, one of the suburban counties that Virginia politicos were watching closely was Chesterfield County (outside Richmond), and Republicans gained a seat there. No doubt, the people at the RNC are going to find that encouraging heading into 2022, and I have a feeling what you just saw in Virginia will repeat itself across the country next year.

Here's another thing I find somewhat remarkable - every Republican incumbent in the House won their elections, which means the only incumbents who lost their seats were Democrats (7 total):

Yes, this is big news.. However I think what is probably the biggest news and should REALLY highlight a shift is that Seattle elected a Republican mayor for the first time in 30 years....... Seattle.. The liberal Mecca of the US.

And ironically (and laughably) enough, they're the same ones who claim RWers don't know what CRT is and what the component parts of CRT are.

It's just like the tired old "progressive" bleat "RWers don't know what socialism is!".

I swear to God, I would rather have a drill bit shoved into my forehead before I have to read any more of the mind-numbing drivel Marx and Kendi have ground out their glutes.

I think you're thinking of the city attorney candidate, Ann Davison, whose win was shocking enough. I love the title of the article:

First Republican Elected in Seattle in Three Decades as Sanity Peeks Above the Parapet and Looks Around
    https://redstate.com/streiff/2021/1...ks-above-the-parapet-and-looks-around-n469353

LOL - I think it was The Seattle Times that referred to the results as "progressive fright night".
