While I strongly respect the Trump/Biden efforts to get out of Afghanistan, the execution was nothing short of a disaster.

I haven't seen the rest of the world that pissed at the US in a fair while.

Too bad those 450??? Americans in Afghanistan didn't leave when the could have or should have. Too bad the previous regime in Afghanistan just stopped fighting for their country and just handed it over to the Taliban.

Biden once upon a time may have been a better option. As far as right now he’s not at all. His cognitive ability is on display and it’s embarrassing. Trump definitely pissed me off a few times but with democrats controlling the house it was a good check on him. I would hate to have him with 3 out of 3 control. Well, it's been a few months since Americans in Afghanistan were told to shelter in place, so they obviously had to leave their shelters to find food and water or they'd be dead by this time if they hadn't.

Plus that's combined with the dreaded midnight letters left at houses threatening to kill all within unless they turned themselves in to the Taliban. So, yeah the Taliban must know that they are there, and we haven't heard of any mass executions of Americans yet, so the stranded Americans are not in immediate danger. We just got to get to them. Numbers will vary.

 

Yes.....why didn't they leave when they were advised to do so?? As I understand it....some made a conscious decision to stay..........for their own varied reasons.

Did anyone expect the Afghan leader to turn tail and run?? (and make up lies to justify his conduct??

Maybe the important lesson to be learned is not to start a war without having an end plan. Also you cannot "war " on an ism.........(terrorism) Or invade a nation to find ONE terrorist leader that want' even there. Twenty years ......and not much to show for it. A lot of American domestic problems could have been fixed with that money. This does not cover the number of fine young people that are suffering from various forms of mental conditions that are a product of the war.

There are commercial flights to and from Afghanistan, so I am not sure why the word "trapped" was inserted the headline, but its FOX, so I guess they spiced it up a little. Old habits die hard. Some people who are US citizens, or dual citizens actually choose to live there.

Do these numbers include the ones that have already departed there bodies at the hands of the Taliban? I wonder how many? Don't think many Christians have fared very well.
