And 5 more just today, 3 to groups

Proud Boys International LLC - Wow, I didn't know domestic terrorist groups would incorporate... pretty savvy for tax purposes....
    Oath Keepers
    1st Amendment Praetorian (??)

    and 2 to founders
    Henry "Enrique" Tarrio
    Elmer Stewart Rhodes

I gather the group subpoenas are for documentation exclusively

Cannot WAIT until any/all of these entities claims Executive Privilege for refusing to cooperate...

    More on the Proud Boys.....

House Jan. 6 committee issues subpoenas to Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and other groups in investigation of the causes of insurrection

Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the committee, said in a statement that the panel believes “the individuals and organizations we subpoenaed today have relevant information about how violence erupted at the Capitol and the preparation leading up to this violent attack.”

Eh, I'll have to take the opposite side on that one... I agree most of the sentencing thus far has been ridiculously light, but you need to save the terrorist-level charges for the actual insurrectionists. There were many dozens of them there that day, but I'm not going to throw everybody in the same basket.... Even Hillary didn't do that (she went half)...

Most of the people ON the Capitol grounds that day will escape unscathed, and I'm mostly fine with that (although I would have loved to see some serious fines to help pay for the damage repair).... those that ENTERED the building are a different story...

Here's another savvy move, usually one preferred by drug dealers and spies

    SNIP
Some of the organizers who planned the rally that took place on the White House Ellipse on Jan. 6 allegedly used difficult to trace burner phones for their most “high level” communications with former President Trump’s team.

Kylie Kremer, a top official in the “March for Trump” group that helped plan the Ellipse rally, directed an aide to pick up three burner phones days before Jan. 6, according to three sources who were involved in the event. One of the sources, a member of the “March for Trump” team, says Kremer insisted the phones be purchased using cash and described this as being “of the utmost importance.”

That wouldn't be fair. There probably were many there that had the right to peacefully protest that shouldn't be deterred from that right. Not giving those who didn't respect that right a pass, just wanted to point out that not eveyone who protested were in the wrong. All of them were there because of a pack of lies, though. That's what is so frustrating to those who believe in the rule of law and love this country, with all the faults and failure and successes and rules.
Because of the internet, we can watch the ebb and flow of mores almost in real time.

I am waiting for the PF contingent of Trump U lawyers to come in and start citing legal precedence which clearly shows that Right wing terrorist groups who plan attack with members of congress or the executive branch can never be compelled to testify before a congressional committee. I’m sure they are poring through the text books right now. I can hardly wait to read their brilliantly crafted briefs.

The "PF contingent of Trump U lawyers" are still at their day jobs flipping burgers somewhere...

The problem with the 1/6 committee will be one of the same problems Mueller ran into.... It's ALL so ****ing bad that no one single smoking gun jumps out at you.... by design. It's sort of like organizing a group of cars to go 90 on the interstate together.... It all looks OK until the cop looks at the radar and he realizes he cannot bust everybody...

Does make you wonder WTF the FBI was doing releasing their clearly premature statement in August on the lack of clear conspiracies around 1/6 that all the Darrows on here like to quote... seems to me a solid chance the FBI is going to be retracting some statements at some point...

I agree. We should start with the Democrats in the Senate.

Kind of like Guiliani testifying before the Supreme Court House Marriot parking lot with paint streaming down his face and his eyes popping out his head...

I share your anger to a great degree with Director Wray: Not only was it a preemptive statement, but where is this domestic terrorist case being filed by prosecutors? Surely, if the FBI views it that way then they were able to build a slam dunk case no? Or is the FBI/DOJ telling us they need Congress as an investigational arm?

If the FBI 'views' it that way now(I suspect it doesn't), it only did so in the view of Wray at the moment of questioning to the Senate Intel committee! How dare the director be political, in an apolitical position! What we see is that there is no nominal improvement from Comey to Wray. A corrupted organization with political views, which has never served American interests.

Meanwhile, we face the third great depression oncoming.

Court's move in Jan. 6 documents case may be bad news for Trump

A federal court order may be a worrisome sign for former President Donald Trump in his effort to keep documents from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. The court late Tuesday told lawyers for Trump they should be prepared to address whether the court even has the legal authority to hear the case.

Former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows cooperating with Jan. 6 probe

The chair of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol said Tuesday that former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has begun cooperating with their probe. The committee had been considering referring Meadows for criminal contempt of Congress charges after he failed to show up to answer questions under oath earlier this month.

Pence's former chief of staff cooperating with Jan. 6 committee

Marc Short, who was chief of staff to then-Vice President Mike Pence, is cooperating with the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, according to two sources familiar with the panel’s activities. The former top aide to Pence is one of the most prominent Trump administration officials to engage with the committee.

The committee is fighting to keep Bannon’s records private. Bannon and news outlets want them public.

Hmmm. Wonder what they are afraid of.
