We shall see what shakes out in 2022 first. Don't run away just yet.

Probably gonna be gains for republicans. Just like in 2018 and 2010. Then Biden can run against the do nothing republicans for 2 years.

Just heard on Charlie Kirk that Trump is up by 30 pts over cost of living.

Increased cost of living is unlikely to drop before next November.

To date there are three solid players for 2024:
    Michelle Obama
    De Santis
    Trump

A lot can happen in 2 1/2 years. The question is if Michelle Obama has gas in the tank. She has never worked at high level, never competed, worked no show jobs, and was handled gently by the press. Live was easy. She was in style. Her value was never tested.

Obama’s economy was poor, and the nation was grumpy.
Trump - He can settle scores and be a kingmaker in 2022, but I don’t think he will run in 2024 unless Michelle runs, because he is the only one “impolite” enough to drill down into her shortcomings in the face of a corrupt press.
De Santis is just running early, old style, as “inevitable”.
By 2023 our national economic landscape will be a lot different due to inflation / possible stagflation, and uncertainties of possible war.

Up until the pandemic, the economy under Trump was on basically the same trend as it had been under Obama. But Michelle O won't run. There's no way. She hates politics. Trump treated the presidency itself as basically a no-show job, but he would still stand a good chance of winning if he runs. The only way any other Republican is going to win is with Trump's kingpin blessing.

    COVID won the 2020 election.

Yep. As I've said before, Trump probably would have won if it hadn't been for COVID. Though part of that is also due to his mismanagement and his toddler tantrums.

Not wrong, yet the major point you are missing is those jobs that were exported through regulations were starting to come back. Manufacturing was coming back in this nation and those higher paying skilled jobs were coming back.

What I do not understand, especially with everyone worried about global warming, is why anyone would want to ship jobs overseas to countries that have WAY less environmental controls than that of the US? It's called shooting your nose to spite your face.

Manufacturing output in the US was on the rise under Obama as well. As was employment. As was average household income. That's part of why I don't credit Obama or Trump.

It was actually declining in the later portion of Obama's presidency. Manufacturing started a rabid decline in 2014, declining 10% before Trump walked into the White House.

Yeah how many recovery summers did Obama have? He also said he had no magic wand and jobs weren't coming back.

As for his oil and environmental policies he's all over the place and passing off everyone.

Like shutting pipelines and leases here but allowing Russia to get its own pipeline, that it will use to update its military. All while pushing for new drilling in the gulf of mexico.

Or slowing down energy production in the states and then asking other, unregulated countries to produce more..... Mind bending I tell you.

The decline in 2014 wasn't "rapid." it was barely a blip. And it had started coming back up again before Trump was elected, much less before he was in the White House. And after he got in the WH, it was back on the same trend it had been on before he was in the WH. Trump talked a big game with his economically illiterate protectionism, but it (thankfully) didn't really have much of an impact at all.

I think it is a foregone conclusion that the GOP is going to take The House.

    Hopefully, I am wrong.
But, with redistricting and egregious GOP gerrymandering it seems the loss of the House is inevitable.
The Dems just need to avoid an absolute disaster like 2010.

The most tragic part of the post-2022 House will be that a Conspiratorial Unamerican Traitor (like Kevin McCarthy) will be given the gavel.

Holding the Senate is a MUST for the Dems.

It came back slower than it should have because democrats always give economic growth a haircut. So now you need GDP + inflation as a target.
Our GDP is 23 Trillion, our National Debt is 29 Trillion.
Total US taxpayers = 126 million. Better get busy taxpayers. The wagon is getting heavier.

I knew they were all pretty much as leftist as you could get but this is taking it towards North Korean-levels of Leader Worship. Seriously? Be Thankful for Your President?

Lemee see - who was the last president in my lifetime I was actually proud to vote for? Might be Reagan. Yeah - if the McLaughlin Group started lecturing to me like this, I'd wonder what the hell was in my coffee - like, maybe someone slipped me a mickey?
