What is there to think about? Non-citizens can't vote, shouldn't vote and that's a full stop.

 

It’s legal for non-citizens to vote. And they’ve been voting for quite a while now.

I didn't read the linked article in the OP, but with my gift of common sense, I'm going to say that we're talking about <whatever> people that are not currently allowed to vote or this wouldn't be something to propose.

Are municipal elections under Federal law jurisdiction? If not, it sounds like this is just busy work so people can keep fighting amongst themselves. One side or the other has to have legal precedent behind them.

Yes. That is how it's been in all the municipal elections in areas where I live. I believe it's governed by the percentage of tax dollars paid to the local government but I'm not completely sure. I've never looked into it.

The craziest part is that we were married over a decade before having children and paid, via local taxes, for one of the best school systems in the state. We moved due to a job transfer and never got the benefit of our children entering that school system.

I'm simply burnt out on all the bickering. We're all Americans and until we get past our <whatever feeling about whatever> and work together, we are digging our own graves. It won't take long for it implode when our enemies are eyeing the prize.

 

They want to get them accustomed to voting in local (city and county) elections so those people will view voting in state and national elections as only logical, and will even feel entitled to do so.

 

Actually, non citizens can vote in some local elections in a few places in America.

They can't vote in national elections. It is up to states and localities to decide who can vote in their elections. The marxists march on toward their goals.

However, my point was/is that some subset of our society can't vote or this would not be an issue. It clearly doesn't apply to those that can.

I’m not a fan of this even a little bit.

Even if your are here on a work visa, how are they to know the issues, how those issue will effect hem, or their effect on the city as a whole if your only here for 30 days ?

I’m honestly not sure how this is a good thing for anyone except the politicians.

 

How does it make sense that non-citizens can vote? Anywhere?

Does an American citizen expect to go hang out in Europe and vote in France or Germany's elections?

Why would any American be for this?
