Dem senator warns Supreme Court of 'revolution' if Roe v. Wade is overturned

Not everyone sees abortion as murder. I see it as the removal of an unwanted growth since I don't regard everything in my body as a "potential" human being. (The fact that you don't understand me gratifies me no end.)

 

I've sometimes wondered if we should extend the age of the abortible fetus to 18 years

 

If you are so against abortion the only reason for that is because you see the fetus as having a human soul. That is a religious assertion

 

It will effectively outlaw abortions in some states. It’s going to cause a mess, and improvised women in red states will be at greater risk of being injured and killed. Then Fox News personalities will just say the murderers deserved to die. Since the court already let the TX law stand, we could see states crafting more ways of charging and punishing women for leaving the state for a safe abortion or surviving an illegal red state abortion.

I'm ready to catch some flak from the side I usually belong to: abortion is a freedom and therefore should be untouched. Why should the government have a say in the personal lives of others? You open up one avenue of interference, and multiple avenues open in it's wake. If Roe gets overturned, that means Heller could be overturned in the future as well.

Besides, most people who have abortions are the type of people you don't want procreating anyway.

 

Honestly I don't think any of us have souls, and I've never mentioned it. But you don't have to be religious to think murder is wrong, although since you want to raise the abortion age to 18 years post delivery, you might need to be educated in how to live in a normal society. You don't seem to be the one to make the pro choice argument since your positions are so extreme and off putting that it's an embarrassment to the pro choice crowd.

 

My opinions are my opinions if you don't like them talk to someone else. The 18 abortion age is a joke, lighten up, willya? Murder is terribly wrong of course, but the removal of something from another person's body isn't murder just as a fetus isn't a human being.

I even admit that young girls who get pregnant are humans and we shouldn't ruin their lives over some extra scraps of tissue they have because they didn't agree with the Pope one time. We shouldn't do that to married women or to any women. Women should have children when they WANT to and at NO other time and there definitely should NEVER be any guilt or coercion involved in the process AT ALL. We shouldn't persecute the majority of the human race because they perpetuate us, why do you want to?

It is part of the Liberal Agenda, which includes death panels, among things.

You don't understand the Politics of Power.

Neither side will accept an end to the abortion debate.

They have way too much invested in it and they will never voluntarily surrender the power and money that flows from it.

These groups, both pro and con, have oodles of power and money. The talk-show circuit, radio talk show circuit, the rallies, marches, protests and demonstrations, the lobbying and rubbing elbows with legislators and celebrities, etc etc etc, plus all the donations to fund it all.

Fortunately, the Supreme Court has issued several decisions on that.

To dumb it down, the Supreme Court has said what science already knows, and that is we have 2 brains.

The "little brain" aka the brain stem (medically the medulla oblongata) controls the body's organs and makes the heart pump etc etc etc.

The "little brain" is also known as the hind-brain to distinguish it from the mid-brain aka the "reptilian brain" and the fore-brain.

It is the fore-brain that makes us be, because it is the part that is conscious and gives us our personality.

The Greeks, being scientifically illiterate and ignorant, had no idea what a biological cell was (and no one would know until 2,000 years later) and so had no idea the fore-brain was Millions of highly specialized biological cells that interact with complex chemicals to make us conscious and to think and feel and all the other things we do.

Because the Greeks were stupid, they concocted the idea that we are inhabited with a "soul" that makes us be.

Anyway, the Supreme Court has said in previous decisions that if your fore-brain is "dead" then you are dead, and because you are dead, disconnecting you from machines is not murder.

In the first 22 weeks, the fetus does not have a functioning fore-brain, thus terminating the fetus is not murder.

There's nothing stopping Liberals from ponying up their own money.

You do realize that your abortion views are so extreme that the people who share them are in the single digits percentage wise. I don't know where you live but even in the bluest of blue land, I doubt it's a common belief that a baby can be aborted up to and during delivery.

We actually have nothing to debate or discuss. Your position is probably considered nuts by 99% of the population, so why should I even discuss it with you? You don't even agree with most of your fellow pro-abortion leftists on this forum.

Maybe but all mothers are women and the biggest percentage of them carry their babies to term and then raise them. Not one time in their pregnancy did they consider that baby to be a chunk of gristle to be flushed. You claim to speak for women but you don't speak their language.
