The full text message, forwarded by Meadows reads: “On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all the electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all — in accordance with guidance from founding father Alexander Hamilton and judicial precedence. ‘No legislative act,’ wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 78, ‘contrary to the Constitution, can be valid.’ The court in Hubbard v. Lowe reinforced this truth: ‘That an unconstitutional statute is not a law at all is a proposition no longer open to discussion.’ 226 F. 135, 137 (SDNY 1915), appeal dismissed, 242 U.S. 654 (1916).”

How is that "changing" the meaning one iota? How is that "doctoring" it. How is it doctoring it to "say what it did not say"? Adding garbage "reasoning" didn't change the treason to patriotism.

Three things here. 1. 2024 presidential election will be decided by the American people. If Trump runs and wins, it will be because the American people chose him. I don't think he will, but if does run and win, he will be the people's choice. One of the reasons Hillary lost in 2016 is she came across as aloof, an elitist and a know it all. She knew what was better for all of us than we did ourselves.

    2. If Trump does run, he won't get my vote. I'm fed up with Trump with his obnoxious, uncouth ways that reminded me of a spoiled four year old brat who's parents forgot to teach hem any manners. But that doesn't make me an automatic vote for the Democrat either. Like in 2016, if both major party candidates disgust me, I have no problem voting against both by casting a ballot for a third party candidate.

    3. I voted for Biden in 2020. Actually it was a vote against Trump, not really for Biden. He just happen to be Trump's main opponent. If the election were held again today, I'd still vote for Biden. The egotistical baby man child had to go. I'd vote for Atilla the Hun if he ran against Trump.

Now I'm wondering, is Trump the only individual in the entire Republican Party that believes in conservative ideals? It sure seems he the lone wolf in all of the GOP.

Trump and his goon squad did more than just protest a result. Trump tried to ignore the votes and reverse the results. Yes, that's a threat to democracy.

I'm not talking about the capitol riot. Trump posed the threat to democracy; the rioters were a threat, but not an existential one. I'm talking about Trump's attempts to steal the election, which may involve repeated attempts in 2024.

Well you get to see yourself and everyone you know paying higher taxes, their money inflated, higher costs all around for the next 3 years. You wanted and you got it.

Dems will lose in the mid terms and if Biden can't get his agenda now, he certainly won't after next November.

Possible. I do find it hard to believe Trump is the only individual in the entire Republican Party that you guys can run. I guess it says the GOP has no bench. One star player and nothing or no one else worthy. One major leauger and everyone in the minors. That it has to turn to a man who with a personality only his mother can stand. Well, other Republicans also so it seems. That no other Republican has the supposedly conservative values that the GOP is suppose to represent other than Trump.

You're free to run him again. But remember, Trump lost to an old, bland, uninspiring man among other things. Perhaps it will take a second lost in 2024 for the Republicans to try to find a decent human being who would make a good president. I forgot, Trump is the only Republican allive that qualifies. That is all up to you guys.

That we will. I highly doubt Trump will run, so perhaps all of this is much ado about nothing. Even so, I can't help myself when it comes to reminding those who support Trump how independents voted in 2020. Yeah, I should know better, but I'm me. 41% of independents voted for Trump, 48% of independents voted for Republican congressional candidates, 51% of independents voted for Republican senate candidates, 52% of independents voted for Republican governor candidates.

That comes out to 7 million people who voted for Biden for president, then voted Republican down ballot. How independents view Trump hasn't changed much since 2016 when 57% had an unfavorable view of Trump, 60% of independents viewed Trump unfavorably in 2020, 56% continue to do today.

The republican party being the smaller of the two major parties, must win independents or lose the election. Unless the Democrats nominate another Hillary Clinton in 2024, she was viewed unfavorably by 70% of independents in 2016, I doubt Trump, if he does run, I don't think he will, but if he does, he'll lose independents again. Of course, he could luck out and the Democrats nominate Harris, then all bets are off.

Have you seen what's happened to independent support of Biden?

    That's not likely to change.

Oh yeah, but it hasn't change their view of Trump. It's one thing independents voting republican down ballot, but not for Trump like they did in 2020, Don't like both major party candidates, 12% of independents voted third party against both Trump and Clinton in 2016.

The thing is here, if the election was held today, you could have 20% or more of independents voting third party against both Trump and Biden. But it's not until 2024. Heck we have a midterm next year which I think will have a direct effect on 2024. I also don't think Trump nor Biden will run again. I could be wrong, I don't see it though.

Biden's job approval among independents is at 37% today. Not good. But to the question Regardless of whether you agree with him, do you like or dislike Joe Biden as a person? You have 40% who like Biden as a person vs. 32% who dislike him as a person. Trump hasn't had a positive like/dislike among independents since he began running for the presidency back in 2015. Trump is at 33% like/61% dislike as a person among independents today. I think the like and dislike is important as history has shown folks usually don't vote for someone they dislike.

I've said this before, it's Trump the man, the person, the individual, that independents don't like. Not necessarily his policies. Independents were split on them, for some, against some. They just don't like Trump with all his antics and very rude and uncouth behavior.

If 2020 was about policy, Trump would have won independents and the election. But 2020 along with 2016 was more about personality, like and dislikes of the candidates themselves. He lost independents 54-41 only because Trump is an offensive and very obnoxious person.

    My view anyway.

Support for Biden going down doesn't equate to Supporting Trump. I think Biden is doing a horrible job but not as bad as Trump did. I'll vote for Biden again if Republicans are dumb enough to run Trump again. I'm not alone in that thought.

What I'm seeing is most of the dislike of Trump is from older voters who disapprove of his brash manner.

Independents tend to vote based on policy and Bidens are terrible, and unlikely to change before the mid terms.

The wild card is Hillary. She smells blood in the water and her ace is she's not associated with the China virus chaos.

Yes it's true but I think many dems are unenthusiastic about Biden.

Historically that leads directly to lower voter turnout.
