I have pointed this out too, and its not just FOX, but Republicans in general. They scream "the border is wide open" off the top of their lungs, and then they wonder why people show up. Lets be honest, - they want to worsen the situation because its political football for them. Same with abortion, - its the goose laying golden political eggs for them, and making it illegal would ruing the whole thing.

If the border was open as claimed, they would not have to apply for asylum.

Asylum is a legal form of entry BTW.

It is...if you have a valid asylum case. Right now it's being used as a proxy to remain in the country, regardless if there is a legitimate reason for asylum or not.

 

Its not 'right now', it has always been. On average US processes 70-80K seekers per year (it was around 200K in the 1980s) and in 2021 is was 65K seekers and 11K settled. They still use Covid Title-42 to mass-deport people on the spot without hearings.

Yes, if you don't have a valid case, then you won't be settled.

 

Truth be told I'm leaning towards someone other than Trump - provided we can find another hard charging, driven, and dedicated person can be found. He's a dick but he has the correct formula.
