Navy training goes woke: Boot camp to include classes on suicide prevention, hazing, racism and sexual assault after numerous crisis over past number of years The Navy will add two weeks of training to its boot camp program that focusing on suicide and sexual assault prevention, hazing and extremism Navy Officials said it would tackle the problems the agency has faced involving the rise of suicides and sexual assaults, as well as fires and deadly ship collisions It also includes the rise of extremism after several former and active military members took part in the January 6 Capitol riot The changes were first suggested after the Navy found crew members were ill-prepared to stop a fire that destroyed a $1.2 billion ship in 2020 In a way, this might be a good thing. If they are going to add all of these briefings, at least allot the time to do it. And as a bonus, maybe these Navy recruits will actually learn how to be sailors and know how to put out ship fires.
How many hours/days do they spend on the proper use of preferred pronouns? Wouldn't want to offend those new raw recruits would they.
We learned how to be sailors and put out fires when I served 50 years ago. I’m saddened by what I’ve seen the navel become since then.
Yeah they'll add 2 weeks to boot camp to discuss these things and then continue to waste Sailors time on a monthly basis by taking duty days to talk about this stuff again once they reach the fleet. I'm so glad we're focusing on what really matters in the military. A much better solution is to add those 2 weeks to boot camp to further develop new Sailors and make boot camp more strict overall. As it stands now the military branches are being forced turn boys and girls into men and women because their parents never did it themselves. It's not working at all and this crap sure as hell isn't going to help. I'm seeing this first hand on a daily basis, the quality of new recruit in the military today is pathetic and pathetic newcomers eventually turn into pathetic NCO's and Officers who are supposed to lead the force full of new pathetic newcomers after them. It's a mess, very little good order and discipline, poor work ethic, poor attitude, constant whining and complaining, etc. Military can't put out a fire or deploy to the field or conduct operations without half the force whining and filing IG complaints about being uncomfortable and crying about their leadership being "mean" to them. But hey, they can tell you all about how to file a SHARP complaint and they don't tell tasteless jokes anymore so thats good. That sure adds to overall leathality and readiness. The military that the American people think of and that the world respects and fears is the old timers serving who are desperately trying to hold the line against this nonsense. It is not the new generation of children who are slowly taking the reigns and turning the military into a kumbaya boy scout camp. And the military wonders why it can throw MASSIVE bonuses at the veteran troops to try to retain them only to be met with a middle finger and a signed DD214 or retirement package. The real military is getting tired of this crap and walking out the door and who can blame them. But hey, there's 10% less racist jokes written in the porta pottys now so chalk that up as a win.
I've little doubt that OER's will rate the number racist jokes in porta-potties as far more important than making sure the force is well trained and can perform their duties.
It's already happening. I've seen Captains writing crap like this on their OER support forms. "Successfully conducted 30 hours of extremism and resilience training this year in order to equip our Soldiers with the tools necessary to fight and win in a healthy environment that promotes equality among the ranks". Yeah meanwhile your equipment is in shambles, you never meet deadlines, you suck as a Company Commander, and your Soldiers are ******* who filed multiple IG complaints because Command had the audacity to send them to the field and it was "really cold outside" and they got yelled at by NCO's for standing around complaining instead of setting up their tents. Hey world, please don't start a war during the winter months, fighting in the cold is hard and "we don't want to". It's "uncomfortable" and our cell phone battery dies really quick so we can't check Facebook. It's not fair, please only fight in warm months. Thank You Sincerely, Gen Z Army Soldiers.
Well, by now everyone should know that since 1945 winning wars has not been a priority for the brass.
Well when you recruit a bunch of trans people who come with the baggage of being highly suicidal, you kind of need to learn how to deal with them... China could win this war simply by misgendering our new recruits!
