I'm the one that noted that what you asserted was a paraphrase on the part of the author of the article. It's an incorrect characterization of what she said because you've assigned your own meaning. Something you pulled out of thin air. That ability to pull meaning out of thin air is you washing your own brain. Or at minimum allowing it to be washed by the author of the article that did the same thing.

Ironically, you're trying to prove that America is worse using her words, and she's very clearly expressed context that shows that what you're doing right now is exactly what she's talking about. This is the root of your own narrative, and why you've paraphrased the meaning of Yeonmi's words the way you have. You have no context to compare, and so in your mind you imagine that you're the one that's experiencing the worst...

She may not be an expert on the U.S. But I am. And from beginning to end I can tell you with certainty that is sucks ass. To the degree that we could do way better. But corruption and legal crime are the name of the game here. And with the willingly gullible like you and the vast majority of other people, it is likely to remain that way.

Let me clarify. The U.S. letting in illegal overpopulating scumbags from third world countries makes America a bad place. (At least that is one of the reasons) Why? What if you went to the top of a tall building and dropped a watermelon from it. Can you predict what would happen to it? Well letting illegals come here will end up ending badly too. It will just take a little time. Those people don't come here because their countries are crap. They come here because THEY are crap. They are the ones who made their countries the way they are.
