"I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors." -- Thomas Jefferson

And yet, she often talks about under-the-radar side issues that later become serious legal matters, like this one. She was one of the first to mention these groups of fake Republican electors many months ago, ending with her usual "Watch this space" phrase. Her show starts with a 20+ minute segment that brings up little tidbits, or digs into a historical event that ties in with something current. If you just watch that first segment, you might enjoy it.

And btw, Maddow has never claimed that hers is a news program.

Powell was all talk, and didn't file forged documents with the National Archives. These people have stayed under the federal radar, but not any more.

Authority belongs to the federal government when forged documents are sent to the National Archives. Which part of that is confusing?

I'm a zealot? Seriously? If you "decided long ago," why are you on this thread, continually making verifiably false claims about the 2020 election?

It doesn't even occur to you that the person making claims that are not based on actual facts is the zealot here, does it? Denial is an acronym: Don't Even kNow I Am Lying.

I wasn’t commenting on forged documents. I was commenting on state authority to conduct elections.

    Refer to my post #157

These fake Republican, Trump-supporting "electors" intended to subvert the will of the voters in their states. It is exttemely unlikely that anyone stupid enough to sign a forged document and submit it to the National Archives had any sort of knowledge about constitutional authority vs states' rights. I think you may be grasping at straws.

I foresee many "pin-ups" of Trump in federal prison cells someday ... hopefully soon. I'm weary of the slow pace of justice and too often the absence of justice for people like this.

He uses fear. Fear of Mexicans, fear of African Americans, fear of anything "other," i.e., "not like us." It works with many, but fortunately the spell wears off for the majority. Eventually. You must know at least a few people who supported him in 2016 but voted against him in 2020. Ask them why.

I’ll agree with you as soon as I see the DOJ and FBI agents whose criminal activities created and milked the Russia Collusion hoax behind bars. They should be in prison for decades, but will more than likely suffer no consequences whatever.

Trump got a bigger percentage of Hispanic votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. Not so much fear there as you’d like to believe

I must disagree. According to the 10th Amendment, a state cannot enact or enforce laws that violate individual rights given by the constitution. All states' voting laws and processes must pass constitutional muster. That includes Section 1 of the 14th Amendment as well.

About what, specifically? That you're grasping at straws? That's just my opinion based on your comments. As for the rest, just stating that I'm wrong is a bit lazy, not to mention cryptic. When I call someone wrong in a debate, I back it up with facts.

Oh geez, watergate LMAO.. Thats actually hilarious after Mr. Obatard abuse of power wiretapped reporters, their family and then tried to strong arm them in to silence ;)

The left and their short memories and allergies to history bites them in the tushy every time ;)

Nixon was nothing like the DNC scoundrels after him!

Love how you pretend there was no illegal acts during a Presidential election - then admit Nixon was involved in illegal activities, and you knew about it, but you
want to pretend two wrongs make the second not so bad ...? WTF.

Love how you think I think, I guess it helps in your twisting the facts :) I'm merely pointing out that Nixons "Big Deal" compared to the crap the Mr. Obatard "The President" is on record of doing makes Nixon little thing look like nothing in comparison...

But you have your dreams, hopes and fictions, you wouldn't be a true party member without the skin ;)

Yes, and his percentage of Hispanic voter support went up, all the while Dems where shouting about his racial hatred. Looks like you were grossly exaggerating and the trend is not looking good for the old donkey party.

I know. It's partisan entertainment. It's not, and not intended to be, a factual and unbiased explanation of events. Why would I waste my time with that? Why would anyone?

I'm sure you do, but what I want to know is what do you think will happen? You don't really think it's likely that Republican electors are going to sentenced to prison out of this, do you?
