    https://nypost.com/2022/01/13/house-dems-pass-nasa-bill/

So, it appears that the Dems in the House have taken a previously voted on bill regarding allowing NASA to lease out its facilities, and completely removed the original language of the bill, replacing it with a copy/paste job of one (or both) of the current voting "rights" bills that are about to lose in the Senate.

After having read this article, it appears to be just another effort that is going to fail to get this legislation passed, but I guess they're hoping that nobody will notice that they made a NASA bill into a copy of the doomed bill(s). While I am relieved that, assuming I understood the article right and that it is itself a proper interpretation of what will likely happen, it will probably also fail, I am absolutely disgusted both that the Dems would pull such a BLATANT act of treachery and outright cheating, and I'm also outraged that such a thing is even possible.

It's bad enough that virtually every bill proposed in Congress ends up with riders and amendments that are COMPLETELY unrelated to the title/subject of the bill, but now we have a "NASA" bill that literally has NOTHING whatsoever to do with NASA, at all.

This only goes to prove that the 2021 Democratic Party is perhaps the single most corrupt political entity to ever exist in the USA, and that they are more than willing to resort to outright fraud, trickery, and completely misrepresentation to pass their dangerous agenda. This is not to suggest that I am in favor of voting policies that actual disenfranchise people, but shortening early voting (as but a single example of many) does not do that, considering it wasn't all that long ago that it didn't exist at all. If you wanted to vote in the recent past, you got your lazy ass off of your couch (unless you have a legit good reason, such as being disabled or serving in the military overseas to qualify to vote by mail), and went to your voting precinct between 7am and 7pm on Election Day. If you were too lazy or apathetic to even do just that much, frankly, I don't want you voting and it matters not what letter (R or D) you have behind YOUR name.

Of all the things being debated, ballot harvesting disturbs me the most. It's open to rampant fraud possibilities ("Mrs. Too Lazy to vote, would you like me to fill out your ballot for you?"), and encourages what should be non-voters to cast a ballot they never would have done of their own volition.

Do you vote for a Democrat or do you vote for a democratic?

Do you vote for a Republican or for a Republicanatic ?

Whatever the Democrats call a bill... you can virtually always bet it does the exact opposite.

Voting Rights = Big Government Control
Infrastructure = Democratic Party Rip Off
    Border Control = Open Borders

Democrats have no real leader to get anything of this magnitude passed. If they did pass these voting reforms they would lose all sense of fair votes anyway. It likely could spark an uprising

While I disagree with language being added to bills that have nothing to do with the subject matter it looks like this was done to start debate as Republicans have been blocking. Some reforms which are badly needed

I would ask Republicans what is wrong with the following:
    • Same-day voter registration
    • No-excuse mail voting
    • Allowing felons who have served their time the ability to vote
    • Require super PACs and so-called “dark money groups” to disclose all donors who contribute more than $10,000.

Republicans will never agree to anything that makes voting easier. They could include mandatory voter ID and no republicans would vote for it

Same day voter registration - if they allowed this there is no vetting time and could allow for votes that otherwise would not have been legal.

no excuse mail voting- I would argue it’s not constitutional and in historic purposes was only used for active military.

felons to vote- should they have the right to bear back as well?

super pacs- I think what people do with their money doesn’t need to be your concern. So long as it’s not foreign money I could care less.

you also forgot to mention that they are trying to make centralized drop boxes a normal thing. That was also ruled unconstitutional in one state for sure. Their way around this is to take the power of elections from the states and put it in their knowing hands (sarcasm).

That’s not the case. If mail in votes were required to be accompanied by a photo Copied ID I would be okay with it.

same day registrations I won’t be okay with though.

allowing felons to vote is also a stiff no

Why? Having to run to kinkos to vote defeats the propose of voting by mail
What’s wrong with same day reg?

Meh, I start to diverge with the GOP here. If you're a law abiding American you have the right to f**king vote!!!! And you should. Why NOT make it as easy as possible? We live in 2022 for christ sake.

    Exactly.

Vetting time? What information has to be vetted that cannot be done almost instantaneously?

How is it not constitutional? You didn’t answer the question though, why is it not a good idea?

    Again, not answering the question.

Then why set limits on any campaign contributions then if people can just easily skirt it? I prefer transparency

I don’t understand why mail in voting by the elderly is ok with the right but drop boxes are not, care to explain?

Personally I think we need to be moving to a more efficient voter system, perhaps secured with a biometric signature and automatic voter registration at age 18

You just seen my logic. Felons are not law abiding Americans. Same day registration doesn’t even give them time to see if they are a felon. The constitution never laid a path for mail in voting, it did however for in person voting. Go ahead and argue it if you want

This thread has less than nothing to do with the ex-President, and it would be greatly appreciated if you, yet again, didn't bring him up in a conversation not at least peripherally about him. With that said, do you or do you not endorse the tactic engaged by the dems in this thread?
