Crude prices rose to their highest level since the 2014 shale-induced oil crash, a milestone in a rally that is gathering momentum as geopolitical tensions threaten to knock supply.

Futures for West Texas Intermediate, the main grade of U.S. crude, added $1.61 per barrel, or 1.9%, to $85.43 on Tuesday. That marks the highest closing level since October 2014,

    Lol from the OPs link

Ebbing concerns over the Omicron variant and tensions in Europe and the Middle East are helping to drive the rally

There's also huge concerns that Biden's lack of a promised cure for cancer is causing major issues across the globe!

Weakness (see Biden) breeds higher tensions. We didn't have this when Reagan and Bush1 were running things.

I was actually excited for this to be on the list. It’s as if the media completely forgot he promised that.

Maybe Biden should show strength and start a nice little shock and awe war, like GWB did, pushing the oil price to >$140 per barrel? I am sure you complained as loudly back then, did you?

US Oil companies LOVE higher prices, because their profits are going through the roof. Its too bad US oil is not so well suited into making gasoline, so we still need to import (and we always did).

They set the global oil price? How do they do that?

Are you in business of buying oil by the barrel, or is there some other reason you cry about this?

Did you vote for GWB and his wars or not? Yes or no?

Also, if you just want to attribute blame: I think the Trump voters are responsible for the oil price hike, because they tend to drive gas guzzlers and care less for conserving energy use, thus raising demand for gas and, thus oil, in turn leading to an increase oil price. There, disprove the claim.

In reality, the world oil price is set by WORLDWIDE demand, as well as WORLDWIDE political issues, just as the Ukraine crisis. What do you want Biden do to fix this? Invade Russia?
