Crime spikes have been an issue in major cities, and the cause has become something of a political football. Brianna's murder certainly isn't the only recent one, but it's one that's garnering a good deal of attention, probably both for the mysterious identity of her murderer, and almost certainly in no small part because she was an attractive young white woman (I'm under no illusion that if I get stabbed to death in L.A. the LAPD would be offering a $250k reward to identify my murderer). I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that the police and media dared to mention the murder suspect's race. Anyways, here's a thread to discuss her murder, the nature of inter-racial crime, the crime spikes in big cities and their causes (looking at soft-on-crime D.A.'s), and the political implications of all of this.
