The economy has never favored anyone poor. Doesn't matter their skin color. What it does do is favor those who put in the work and effort to get themselves ahead. But ONLY if they work for it.

Of course it does, your fair share is out there up to you to do the things to get it it's not going to be handed to you, your fair share is what you fairly earn like everyone else.

They did what it took to take advantage of the economy to get their fair share of it it wasn't simply handed to them.

She's right; there IS much more work to close racial wealth divide. BY the community suffering the problem. Start emphasizing the personal habits and traits that lead to success. Study what other communities that have succeed have done and then DO THE SAME.

The fairness OF THE SYSTEM has nothing to do with your own actions.

The point is that the economy works just fine for almost anyone willing to put in the effort regardless of race creed or color. The less you put in the less you get out. Now that may change if the Democrats, the bureau rats and the Davos crowd get their way but it won't change for the better. Think cyberpunk genre.

Yes and we were making progress for quite a while. Oddly, racism has gained in popularity in recent years. Shame.

I agree that government must treat people equally. Nothing else is unacceptable. But the economy doesn't treat people it just does what it does.

There's law and then there's how the law is applied. The world isn't black and white and neither is how the rules are applies, especially if a human intervenes in the process or has the final decision.

Then you agree with me. It isn't the economy that discriminates against blacks or even the law. It is people. Glad you agree.

The people are racist, not the system.

That is not an excuse for discrimination based on skin color, origin, gender, religion, etc., etc.

Exactly. The reality is this is baloney. Skin color has nothing to do with one's credit.

Since the people ARE the system, then yep, the system is racist.

It certainly has had a resurgence.

And, it is showing up as a key element in the Republican drive to skew voting such that our democracy is no longer representative of the people.

The "of the people, by the people, before the people" direction is NOT acceptable to Republicans.

The SYSTEM is fair and waiting for you to do the things necessary to take advantage of it, fair does not mean it is simply handed to you not matter what YOU make of YOUR life.

But the point it that there is no discrimination unless you count affirmative action.
