If you want to wear a mask and leave others be, that’s cool. But if you’re so scared of getting covid that you feel the need to impress your fears upon them so that they will change their actions. Just stay at home and leave the rest of us alone.

Gorsuch, from the beginning of his tenure, has proved a prickly justice, not exactly beloved even by his conservative soulmates on the court.

At his first sitting in 2017, he sought to dominate the argument and repeatedly suggested that a complex case, involving conflicting provisions, was really very simple.

"Wouldn't it be easier if we just followed the plain text of the statute?" he asked over and over. "What am I missing?"

A lot, said his colleagues, both liberal and conservative.

Why should he wear a dirty piece of paper or cloth over his face, huff his own breath, and deny the litigants analysis of his microexpressions, just to satisfy the feelings of a colleague who is not endangered by his lack of wearing a mask per the CDC (he's over 2 and everyone there is fully vaxed, AND they're far more than 6 ft away from each other)?
Do you not see how inconsiderate and disrespectful it is to demand your colleagues virtue signal in ways that are detrimental to themselves and the case?

Again assuming your premise. I do not agree that virtue signaling so a colleague who is not endangered but feels like they are feels better is "the right thing" to do.

I don't think that denying the litigants access to his microexpressions is a minor inconvenience, nor do I take putting a dirty bag on your face for no actual reason (since everyone is old enough and vaxxed enough and far enough away from each other) to be a minor inconvenience.

I have never asked someone to put on a mask.

If i had a friend of family member who had risk factors, and i saw someone not wearing a mask indoors, i could see going off on them though.

Fox News tonight is report a spokesperson for the court, William Hennessy Jr, has totally debunked the story, there has been no request that mask be worn nor any refusal for a mask to be worn.

"There has been no blanket admonition or request from Chief Justice Roberts that the other justices begin wearing mask to oral arguments. The source further stated that Justice Sotomayor did not make any such request to Justice Gorsuch, I am told due to that fact there was no refusal by Justice Gorsuch"

If this is true and I have no reason to believe it is not will you retract your OP and apologize for all the vile remarks you made about Gorsuch?

 

Sotomayor can wear a real respirator n95 if she is concerned. Why make everyone else wear a mask if she can just wear a more appropriate mask that actually works?

 

Too bad. It's time to stop playing make believe so that Sotomayor can pretend she is somehow safer. Maybe she can get vaccinated. Or identify as immune.maybe wear a real medical grade mask designed for viruses?

 

I've mentioned many times that I went through a horrible divorce. My ex tormented me for almost ten years. It damn near killed me.

I said that to say this. A cop lied to me when she asked for me to take the kids' car seats out of my van. I didn't understand it at the time but that afternoon, my kids didn't get off the school bus and I was frantic. I have no idea what was going on. That is the worst feeling on the planet. About 5 hours later, I was able to get an answer. My ex called the police and child protective services on me so they kids were taken from me until they could investigate. Of course, I didn't hurt them but I've cooperated with the police and child protective every single time I had to.

So, I called the officer's supervisor and expressed how disheartening it was that nobody told me that I would not see my kids until I was investigated. I was terrified for HOURS. I wasn't a threat to my kids or the cops. I wouldn't have blamed her for telling me or, if she didn't know how I'd respond, it would have been nice for her to call me when she was no longer in my home. I kid you not...her supervisor said "Grow the f&ck up. Common decency isn't real!" ;-0

A health concern that was unfounded in science and deeply rooted in childlike desire and superstition.
They are distanced far more than the standard, they are all vaxxed to their eyeballs.

If she was an average person and not a Justice one might even suspect a political motive, but a Justice has no politics do they?

If she was a Justice and not a layman, she wouldn't have based her opinion on mandates on wildly inaccurate figures that bear no resemblance to the actual statistics on the threat of the virus to children. Perhaps he acted in disgust for a person with her stature and control having such disrespect for the actual science.
