Senate Democrats should accomplish what they can!!!

Due to Sinema and Manchin, the BBB bill is dead. The voting rights bill is dead.

BUT...they can still pass lots of the BBB through reconciliation. Not all of it, maybe just 50% of it, but its still worth doing!!!

They should stop shooting for the moon, get done what they CAN get done, and shoot for Hawaii instead of the moon. Progress is progress, even if its less than you hoped for.

Or...the Dems can whine and bitch and moan, and look like a bunch of pathetic children, and waste this valuable power they have.

They can get some climate change stuff done.

They can do a millionaire's or billionaire's tax.

They can do paid family leave.

There are a bunch of things Sinema and Manchin are willing to support, so use that support!!!!

 

Sorry but the bills are attached to quid pro quo. Nothing passes unless certain democrats get paid under the table.

 

Let's see, climate change, that's where the US government puts onerous costly programs on U.S. citizens to comply with certain environmental standards that the rest of the industrial world doesn't follow.

The bottom 50 % of Americans pay no tax or very little tax but they are never satisfied. Tax the working people more and pass on those dollars so others can receive paid family leave. Since when should we all be responsible for everybody's children?

 

It appears that they have already accomplished too much. Runaway inflation, crime rates going through the roof in many cities, many people so pissed at them that they are going to vote them out of office in droves come November. They would likely be smart to quit while they are already so far behind.

 

Kind of hard to get anything done when your president and VP are trying to survive a 33% approval rate after being slapped in the face with a SCOTUS ruling on their unconstitutional mandates.
Its been a sinking ship every since the Afghanistan disaster.

It’s like Democrats are going out of their way to fluck things up. The climate change stuff, and war on fossil fuel’s might have sounded good to some, but the reality of gas prices going up 50% is a major reason why prices of everything is going through the roof.

No, inflation is permanent. When you reduce the value of the dollar, the only way to restore it is to implement deflation and government will never do that. You are confusing inflation with price increases. Price increases have nothing to do with inflation or covid. They are caused by the ratio of supply and demand and I agree they will correct themselves over time. But inflation will not.

Demand is very strong. There is a lot of pent up purchasing power, some of which occurred because of covid. Supply is poor. Hence high prices. Yes, as I said, prices will stabilize over time. We agee. But you said inflation will stabilize over time and that is what I corrected.
