It’s been almost a year since I’ve worn a mask, how about you?

If they worked, this threat to human life you were speaking of wouldn't be a threat.

It is not a matter of them not working. It is a matter of understanding their limitations. They will reduce the severity of the infection, if you catch it. It is questionable whether they prevent infection. It is questionable whether they will prevent you from passing it on. There are people who have a very valid reason for not getting vaccinated. You can pass the infection on to them. It is especially dangerous because you might not know you are infected.

I realize to you everything is black and white with no gray in between, but there should be some cost benefit analysis as to mask effectiveness and policy requirements for masks.

You are free to do as you wish. I personally don't like having mandates in place. At the same time, people should accept that their actions have consequences.

Anecdotal, yes, but to make a point--My daughter left work on Monday, feeling a bit under the weather. On Tuesday, she found out that one of her co-workers, who adamantly refused to wear a mask, had tested positive for Covid and had come to work. My daughter got tested on Tuesday and was also positive. Yesterday, 6 more employees tested positive and the business had to close down because of the staff shortage. They are not sure when or if they will be able reopen soon because of previous shut downs. Now my daughter and I are on lock down.

My point is that people need to take responsibility and consider how their choices affect others. One person's refusal to accept that responsibility resulted in a lot of other sick people and a business shutting down (meaning no money for an unknown period of time).

I wear one when I’m in public places that’s usually once a week. I carry one when I run every day in case I encounter a heavily populated area: used it once. Wore one during a football game in December (over 100K in attendance) and preferred it. It was freaking cold.

One thing I have learned in the last year and that is it’s pretty cool to open your front door and have anything you desire sitting on your front stoop. Feels like you’re being waited on.

A roof over my head, clothes on my back, and food in my belly. Life is good (for me at least). Get back to me after I’ve had my taxes filed:)

There is no real way to know who gives who the virus. However I feel for your position. Where I come from it’s a bit different. We don’t point fingers or blame. We all go maskless. I’m at a jr basketball game right now. Small town excitement if you have been in this world you would know. No one in the stands has a mask. Not one… around here, people with masks are the ones out of place.

From the beginning, I've only worn a mask when work requires it, I'm flying to see my granddaughter, or in a hospital. Even when there was a state or local mask mandate, I would leave if a business owner told me to put on a mask. I've had antibodies since July 2020 and don't see the point since masks don't work anyway.

Were you and your daughter and all those people at work vaccinated mask wearers?

I wear a mask at work, as i have no interest in catching Omicron. I also wear in stores and at doctors offices.

Yep, and a mask isn't an 18+ years financial and emotional agreement.

I'm in Florida too and I see people wear masks everywhere and I think nothing of it, - and then again.....why would I? Went to Publix yesterday and practically everyone wore a mask. Big deal.

I am in poor health and suffer from chronic lung and sinus problems. Just seems wise to mask up. I live in a liberal area so people wearing masks are common here.

    Here, about 10% wear them.
Haven’t seen double-masks, except for the case I described.

How do you know that they are not driving to several different places where mask wearing in required? Taking a mask on and off repeatedly is not a good idea.

I don't see the cost implications of wearing a mask - it's a few pence/cents per week. It's not an inconvenience to wear a mask

And yet people like you say that Biden's policies are not working. Bit difficult for them to work when half of the population refuse to follow the policies

Do as you like. I wear one every day I leave the house. Doesn't matter to me whether random strangers get taken out by the Rona or not.

We know Biden’s policies don’t work. How many people have died in areas with mask mandates? I haven’t heard of but 1 death in my area.

More than a third of the population are not fully vaccinated and just as many refuse to wear a mask even in places where there is a mandate. Biden's policies cannot work if people refuse to follow them

I understand your concern, however it’s like a past poster said. If you fart the guy next to you wearing a mask is going to smell it. Masks don’t work. Plenty of people who have wore masks have died.

And people forget to take them off. My wife does it all the time. She'll put it on going to Home Depot, and still wears it when she gets home.

Well you are free to wear them at all times for the rest of your life.

I was referring to institutional requirements. You've always been free to wear a mask.
