You're cute (metaphorically speaking of course... granted, you might be a smoking hot Tom Brady for all I know) thinking that the 1994 violent crime bill was all about sex offenders. That three strikes and your out was used to incarcerate allot of small crime black people. But, if you're okay with putting black people behind bars for lesser crimes, just say so.

Just Democrats. They sure have a history of it. H.R. 4092 made Jim Crow proud to have the (D) behind his name.

Just dems? So no republicans voted for the 94 crime bill? Would you like to let all black people out of prison?

The irony of you posting a fake quote in a thread about fact checking....AJ you've done it again!

Double down on being wrong… i have to ask Fox News to stop inspiring such disinformation. It makes the posters here think such things are okay.

Fact checking = the thankless and never-ending job of reminding everyone that the members of the Trump Syndicate and their cheerleaders are criminally full of bullshit.

Though I agree that Snopes is putting their finger on the scales, your description of your understanding of what their explanation (which you reproduced) had said, might give them an example of why, they could say, they need to involve themselves in affecting peoples' impressions: because a lot of people don't understand information too well (so, Snopes might contend, are being duped by sources on the other side of the political spectrum, against which, Snopes felt a need to calibrate).

Here is Snopes explanation, that you translated as, e.g., "the pipes in the kits aren't specifically 'crack' pipes,"-- which would have been a clearly bogus story (because, as everyone is well-aware, there are definite requirements of a pipe, to serve satisfactorily, for crack). But here is Snopes actual explanation, from your post:
    (SNIP)
In a Tuesday piece claiming news reports "grossly misrepresented" details about the substance abuse harm reduction program, Snopes stuck with its "mostly false" rating by arguing it was
inaccurate to say that the distribution of the "smoking kits" was intended to "advance racial equity," but admitted that the pipes would be distributed with race as "a secondary consideration."
    (End Snip)

What that means, is that they were not rating the news statement as "mostly false," because it mentioned crack pipes, but instead, because that statement also had claimed that the
reason it included crack pipes, was to "advance social equity."

Now, that also sounds like a pretext, to me. If this part of the statement was what Snopes had a problem with, "
mostly" is the wrong modifier. They could, for that reason, have said that it was partly wrong, and I would have actually agreed, because Brietbart's (or whoever's) claim that the pipe was specifically to advance social equity, sounds like a bit of bull, itself (though even Snopes agrees that "race was a secondary consideration," in the inclusion of crack pipes).

I have never been to the Snopes site, or at least do not recognize the name, so I will not assume, but I think it is standard practice for such sites that, along with their ratings, the specific misinformation for each statement, is detailed. This, assuming Snopes follows that model, at least lessens the deceptiveness of the rating, obviously.

    But what excuse does
Brietbart-- or, if they'd run with the same, "social equity" story-- FOX NEWS have, for laying their own palms so heavily, for this story, on the scale of truthful news?

That image is deceptive since it only shows a peaceful protest demonstration. So far all of the J6 investigations seem be aimed at covering up the inconvenient truth.

BUZZFEED NEWS, The FBI Investigation Into The Alleged Plot To Kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Has Gotten Very Complicated, The case seemed like a lock — until an informant and one FBI agent were charged with crimes, another was accused of perjury, and a third was found promoting a private security firm. And that wasn’t all. , By Jessica Garrison and Ken Bensinger, December 16, 2021.

Fact Checkers = MSM = Fake News

Which is not to say that the truth cannot be distilled out of biased sources - especially on the rare occasions when they report against their bias

"Perhaps the biggest lie of all is that fact-checking can act as some sort of short-cut to the truth. For news consumers, there’s really no getting around the time-intensive work of paying attention to multiple sources of information and making their own judgments.
And I’ll bestow my own “Pants on Fire” award to anyone who claims otherwise."

Malcolm X identified the DP as the active enemy of black Americans.

“Both of them have sold us out, both parties have sold us out. Both parties are racist, and the Democratic Party is more racist than the Republican Party.” Malcom X, By Any Means Necessary, Malcom X, Betty Shabazz and Pathfinder Press, 1992, P 46.

The RP, for the most part, is just too yellow to actively interfere with the racist schemes of the DP. The DP is clearly far more dangerous, but which party is more repulsive? That is a tougher call.

It used to be that knowledge was power. Now, the influence to destroy knowledge is the shortcut to power. Influence is power. If we want power we only have to destroy the influence of our opposition, and promote our own influence, not refute ideas, or negotiate truth.

And, I did it DELIBRATELY to illustrate point.
    So What?
If this forum (as is obviously the case in recent days) is going to be allowed to be spammed (and over-run) with RW Disinformation, then what is wrong with some equal time?
