They got overly confident with how easy they got Crimea. Why spend on legitimate defense if you can steal the money and make some cosmetic changes?

They can ask help from any country but only members can invoke article 5.

Maybe they could send volunteers like sweden did during the winter war.

I think NATO would be better off acting now rather than waiting until Putin has secured Ukraine.

It seems pretty inevitable that NATO will eventually have to act. Better to stop him now before he taps into all that oil and natural gas.

yeah....I have a feeling things are going to turn very nasty very quickly......the one thing that's been missing since the beginning is artillery and I think this will change. The Russian Military is an artillery army first, and it has used a fraction of its available firepower in this war so far. The bulk of the Russian Military has yet to enter the fight, outside Kharkiv, most of the 1st Guards Tank Army and 20th Army, are just sitting there. I just wonder if they are refusing Commands...I don't know... maybe they've been holding back to avoid inflicting high casualties. Very weird tactics in all this which makes me think there could be Commanders that are not taking orders. Anyway I think we'll see a lot more air power and a lot more artillery very soon....

I can't see anyone tolerating that for long. Not here, not in Europe, not even in Russia.

Is that all you care about? And let the Ukrainians die. We will fight for resources. These are not your resources, and if Russia wants to stop deliveries, it has the right to do so.

And artillery rounds cost money too, something the Russians has less and less. It’s not just about Ukraine, Russia must be thinking of what will happen after Ukraine. Without a strong economy, they may win Ukraine and lose Russia…

Yes, it is interesting that this one shows up after the last crop seemed to drop out all at once.

Great logic. Few comments means a bot. Bots get paid to comment.Do you not agree that the natural resources in Russia belong to Russia? But what about NATO defensive alliance? Ukraine is a member of NATO? Or for the sake of 30% of the world's resources, you can break your own rules.

We'll see who's spreading propaganda in a week. Let's see what you say when Ukraine ceases to exist.

I do, too, and we'll soon find out if Putin is willing to give Ukraine's cities the Grozny treatment.

Tough talk, keyboard commando. Shouldn't you be in Ukraine dying like a dog for your czar?

Don't know what you are getting at but I don't particularly like Colin Powell. I see him as an establishment/globalist.

The following is from a Greek site:

According to Satellite photos taken today by Maxar Technologies a private American company, the largest military convoy since WWII is now approaching Kiev and has reached the Antonov airport. It spans about 27 kilometers and consists of about 2500 vehicles.

Looking at the image, I noticed that most seem to be trucks 3 abreast - which makes me wonder if they might be carrying food since the stores were looted when the regime gave out rifles.

The site writes that despite information to the contrary, the Russians did clean out Kharkiv, but haven't provided a garrison for its safekeeping. They did though destroy all the infrastructure of the Kiev regime like the security building.. After they left to get reinforcements and to continue their advance towards Kiev. As for the Ukrainian paramilitary groups, they are being fought in the areas outside Kharkiv.

The same goes for Melitoupoli, and the other cities where Ukrainian forces have been kicked out - that is except for Mariupol, where the neo-Nazi Azov Brigade has mined the city, and threatened to blow it up if the Russians enter.

    answer to jeannete;

i read such news several hours ago, perhaps more than 12 hours ago.

according what i read, the convoy was 5 km long, but it is possible that it increased.

i don't understand why the ucranians didn't damage the road before.

Today Ukrainians destroyed an exceptionally large column of Russian vehicles (including tanks) northwest of Kyiv.
