Nevada governor accosted: why are leftists surprised?

Nevada's Democratic leftwing governor was confronted and harassed by another diner this week:

But what do liberals/progressives/socialists expect? After all, it was the Democratic Party congresscritter Maxine Waters who encouraged leftists to confront and harass Republicans in public places.

Just like those at the capital who emulated rioters at the BLM protests, those on the right are simply parroting what has gained praise and attention for leftists.

These idiots from Nevada are just as wrong as the knucklehead liberals/progressives/socialists who harassed Trump officials at restaurants and other public places. Will my leftist friends here agree?

 

I'm not a leftist or partisan but I find it bizarre that you seem to believe that adults don't have free will. Kids are easy to manipulate but that's only because they have to rely on the adults around them to care for them. Why would an adult need somebody else to tell them how to think or what to do?

Of course they have free will. And they pay attention to what the media considers 'important.' All those Tea Party 'protests' from a few years ago that attracted thousands of people and were virtually ignored by the media? In their view - which I disagree with - it's much better now to break **** and threaten people.

They've learned that leftist rioters were not disavowed by most liberals/progressives/socialists, but rather praised and had bail posted for them.

Fortunately, most of us on the right don't like this nonsense. We just wish those on the left felt the same way...

 

I don't watch television so I can't speak to any of the imbalances you say happen relative to specific political leanings. However, I'm also not aware of anyone being mandated to watch television so I'm still unclear on why this is a concern.

Further, it seems like we've moved way beyond the scope of politics into a straight nose dive into abject hatred and willful disregard for our fellow Americans. I don't see a pathway out of that darkness so I'll just leave you be to get back to your agenda here.

I quite agree with you here. I don't watch much TV either, and obtain most of my media information from leftwing sites such as the New York Times and Washington Post and rightwing sites such as Breitbart and other sources.

Sadly, it's difficult to obtain unbiased media information, but as you point out, this is the world we live in.

And as I stated, I believe these idiots in Nevada should be shunned by decent people. Unfortunately, many on the left won't shun or disavow those who act out in seeking leftwing 'justice.'

I didn't read all the posts but I'll take your word for it.

Also, I don't immediately recall having any discussions with you (it's been a harrowing week on my end) so this might be a repeat. I am a former police officer and I have never once asked any person or suspect or criminal their political lean. That would be like a doctor doing some kind of pre-assessment before doing their job. It just doesn't happen.

My point is it doesn't matter to me what political views a victim of a crime has because he or she is *more* than that. I believe that we should be focused on that "something more" that's found in all of us. Crimes should be crimes no matter who commits them and victims should have the right to have their voices heard should they choose to do so and not have them silenced because the society they live values some people over other people.

It's impossible to even begin to bridge a divide that most people don't even want to admit exists and it is in that blind spot that hatred festers. At the risk of repeating myself, we are the only ones that can make that change - in either direction.

 

And, apparently no universal remote. Psst...you know they get a bit torqued when we don't agree with them. Shh.

I am not surprised that some posters would open a thread to celebrate such attack on the Governor and his wife. How would they react if this happened to DeSantis or some other GOP Governor?

Kidding aside, Folks who vandalize should be punished. But remember where she lives, they let murders out without bail, so it might be hard to get any DA in SF to take this seriously...
