Most of emigres do not carry such views, but internal Russians do. Also, I’ve personally known some Russians that live in the U.S. and carry such views as well, even though they have unrestricted access to the news. Russian propaganda is like brain programming, and in some cases it’s permanent.

In fact, I don't hate the russians, just like I don't hate the chinese or the Iranians. I hate their governments, elites and military leaders, but the citizens of those countries are just victims like everybody else.

 

LOL - I understand the causes of this war and Mr. Putin's ambitions quite clearly, and it's a textbook case of revanchism, as was the land grab in Crimea in 2014.

 

The issue of Crimea has been settled once and for all. It's a part of the Russian Federation. You may not like it, but that's the reality.

I was reading an article the journalist was gleefully telling us how Russia have no money and people are fleeing Ukraine and Russia. Pfft...they are fleeing in the wrong direction...the only thing that will soon matter is energy and food....and Russia has both.

 

Well, back to the subject - this is the power of woke. The woke cancelation of russia may last a very long time after political sanctions are lifted. People are tired of never ending Covid news, so the whole world is watching the war. I think this is the first war in the world that is so closely watched by foreign civilian population in real time. Whether you agree with it or not, Russians earned extremely bad reputation among people who hold grudges over a century. Strangers here, in Florida, when they learn that I’m from Ukraine, they shake my hand and ask if they can help in any way. This unjust war touched insane amount of people. I just think that the backlash against common Russians is pretty much inevitable, especially those who display any Russian symbolism.
And, I’m not going to lie, as an ethnic Ukrainian, I think they earned it.
