…the former president hailed the "exoneration" of a Jan. 6 defendant this week and pointed at the real culprit of the storming of the Capitol: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"Remember this: Nancy Pelosi is in charge of security," Trump told Newsmax's John Bachman in an exclusive back-stage interview Saturday. "The president is not in charge of security."

Trump claims Pelosi turned down the pre-Jan. 6 presidential request of 10,000 National Guard troops to provide security for the Capitol on the date of the congressional hearings to certify Joe Biden's Electoral College votes.

"We had a 10,000-soldier request. We were putting in because we knew it was going to be very big, because it was about the voter fraud. We had a request for 10,000 National Guard or soldiers to be there, and she turned them [down].

"She didn't like the look. She turned it down."…

rump is right about this. And it is let’s go Brandon and his regime along with Pelosi that is making it so. Their enablers and voters bear personal responsibility for all that is going wrong in America right now. We had it so good under Trump and the new illegitimate regime could have prospered by doing nothing. Instead they effed up everything.

Pelosi truly is an idiot. So is her biased Jan 6 commission. One acquittal down many to come! Also the Whitmer kidnapping hoax was exposed as well.

I watched the rally today and it was a good one. Even the train liked him.

The ONLY one claiming it was Nancy’s responsibility was the guy everyone on Jen 6 was trying to contact to call it off.

Multiple people contacted him - at any point did he contact Nancy if it was her job?

In short, the new strategy is to blame Pelosi for not having properly gauged how dangerous MAGA is.

Uhh no he's not right actually. This claim has been reviewed and fact checked since January of 2021, and time and time again it has been shot down. The security for the Capitol building is overseen by the Capitol Police Board, which Nancy Pelosi was not a part of. This isn't even theoretical, if you want to claim that she was a member of the Capitol Police Board, or that she is the overseer of security and not the Capitol Police Board, you are wrong. Plain and simple

Furthermore, this ignores why security needed to be heightened to begin with

This has always been real murky on who was at fault for weak security. Whoever denied the National Guard request has tons of fault. Whoever did not have the Capitol Police at full presence has tons of fault.

I can't say. I don't know who those people are. I do know this, when the boss of the Capitol Police complained, Pelosi fired him. Why? He was right by all measures.

What is NOT murky is who was at fault for the need for extra security. Dirty Donny Bonespurs.

If he had not whipped his supporters into a frenzy with months of lies about a “stolen” election, there would have been no insurrection. No riot. No attack on the Capitol.

He also could have taken steps earlier to protect the Capitol by authorizing National Guard as soon as the trouble started. And he could have sent a clear message to his supporters much earlier to call off the attack.

He bears primary responsibility for what happened that day.

Actually Trump said what he did about Pelosi in an interview separate from the rally today. He is right about all that he said in both the interview and his speech today.

Who is to blame? There is a ton of that to go around.
    • Big Tech for censoring to favor Democrats
    • The MSM for censoring to favor the Democrats
    • The state judges illegally changing election laws when it was the legal action of the state legislators only
    • Vote counters for not letting observers doing their jobs and for going back and counting in the middle of the night without observers
    • Allowing for a Mail in Election with drop boxes and vote harvesting all over the place
Rigging an election pissed many off. Trump called for "Peacefully and patriotically" protests.... see it with your own eyes from January 6 video.

Now that you know why people were not cool with how the election went down and that Trump called for them to be peaceful, will you embrace the truth.... or... is Orange Man Bad. :roflol:

so Trump has records of him calling Nancy that day then right?

if that is who Trump thought he had to call, then there should be a call from him to her that day

There would not have been any insurrection, any riot, any attack on the Capitol if he had not lied for months about a”stolen election”. If he had conceded gracefully, like every other defeated president. There was no need for a rally that day. He lost.

The purpose of that rally, in that location, on that day, was a starting point for an attack on the Capitol.

He might have said “peaceful” once but I’ve read somewhere that he said “fight” many, many more times. His message was not one of peace.

And finally, he watched for hours doing nothing to protect the Capitol or call of his followers.

Yes, there is no doubt about it. He bears primary responsibility for what happened that day.

Just like Donald..........his supporters just cannot accept t;hat he lost. .........so they keep rationalizing his conduct to this day.......and remain in the same level of denial he is......

It is long time to get past it and move on....but they can't as trump keep stirring up the pot .with different twists and more blame of anyone ........but himself......... as HE is the one that LOST and can't face it. He is a weak, vulnerable person filled with rage when things do n't go his way...........and has never maturated into effective adulthood. He has perfected his ability to trigger his followers into being almost fanatical about him.

Well … a total loser who can’t accept that he lost might.

You might consider modifying your post to

Nobody (rational / sane / who cares about America / etc.) holds a rally in front of the Capitol, after the election is over and they lost….

Only apostates such as Trump and his supporters would continually blame someone who does not have the jurisdiction.

Let's just say that it is Pelosi's fault, that she was the one who stood in the way when Trump or associates requested additional National Guard troops on for that day, just like Trump says.
Why did he request them, without a trace of evidence? No one has been able to find any communication to that end.
Why did he think they needed them? Did he have prior knowledge of something that was not communicated? Many of those people came prepared, some with weapons, bear spray, uniforms, bullet proof vests, zip ties and more. Why would they do that, how does so much of it seem coordinated? Did all these separate people have the same idea at the same time strongly enough to prepare for it? Was there some form of communication that has yet to be found out? I guarantee there was chatter online about preparations ahead of time, and I know the FBI had warning days ahead of time and advanced those warnings to Trump, and all he did was phantomly request 10,000 troops from a group ultimately directed by himself, and blame the failure on someone else? If he really wanted additional National Guard troops, he could have ordered them, but just the DC National Guard.
Does he regularly request additional security when he holds rallies? Does he ask governors of the states he holds rallies in because it will be "wild". Kind of odd that Bannon basically predicted it the day before, and viewed it all from the "war room" in a local hotel.
From what I read, Pelosi may have been in an approval chain and might have nixed adding additional Capitol Police, but seems like they had many, as over 100 were injured. Honestly, why would anyone think they should need more than that for a peaceful rally?
Because Trump knew ahead of time it wouldn't be peaceful. I think they (Bannon, Giuliani, Trump, etc) had been monitoring online discussions, probably even had many emails suggesting such, and had a really good idea that there were people planning to take violent actions to try to stop the steal, all they had to do is light the match.
This is why there should be a congressional investigation, to find the answers to these questions.
I also find it odd that an entire major political party (save a few) is against any investigation into an event that was entirely based on trying to subvert the constitution. Seems like most constitutional conservatives would be apalled at what happened and why it happend.
But here they are, celebrating another lie to cover up the outrage that should be welling in any patriotic American. This should be a big warning sign, red flag, that ultra partisan politics is not a good thing.

By the way, just watched a little video of the Trump rally near where I live on a local news channel. They were very strategic about the bleachers and the main cameral angle, but other shots showed that maybe Trump's popularity is waning. Let's just say it wasn't a huge crowd. Hopefully it didn't hurt the trinket sales too much! With him out of the picture, maybe the Republicans can get out of their slump and produce some really helpful legislation, and both sides can work together again to solve the many problems our country faces.
Biden isn't a great leader, but he isn't bad, disregarding policies, but that could be fixed in 2024. We need a wise and true leader who loves America above him/her self who truly doesn't care much about partisanship.

I was there. Easily 10,000 people in the middle of a field in nowhere. Selma is 45 min to an hour from a large town in Raleigh. And it was 50 freaking 50 degrees and North Carolinians don’t like the cold and there was still easily 10,000 people there for a midterm rally.

From a local newspaper: "Newsweek reported that The Farm at 95 has a capacity of only about 400 people. However, local news publication The News & Observer did not agree with this capacity estimate. The News & Observer noted that there were about 1,000 to 2,000 people in attendance, and reported that the same venue had hosted about 15,000 people at a Trump rally in 2016. (Heavy reviewed an article from the News & Observer published on November 5, 2016, and confirmed that Trump did indeed speak to a crowd of more than 15,000 in Selma at The Farm on that date.)"
    https://heavy.com/news/trump-selma-north-carolina-rally-crowd-photos/
You have no idea on how to judge a crowd. When I saw the camera pan the entire area while Trump was speaking, the number 1500 came to mind. I used to run a business and occasionally had 1000+ guests (customers) for an event, and that's what it looked like to me. Of course, I wasn't there, but I would think everyone who attended would be present while Trump was speaking.
