The missile defense systems in east Europe are there at the request of the countries of east Europe. The war in Ukraine is a good example why they want them.

The one thing we have learned from the war in Ukraine is that Russian claims about their weapons' capabilities are not to be taken seriously.

There ain't going to be any trials and Russia will do what Russia does till Russia decides to stop. They just got their asses handed to them and now shear destruction is all they have to save face as a major military power. I hope I'm wrong and they will just go home.

The lifetime of this base is only 2 minutes. The base in Redzikovo makes sense only in the event of a preventive US attack on Russia. Whoever built this base has a plan to attack first. No options.

Because Putler attempting to take control of Ukraine by military force is the natural response to false concerns about ABM systems in Poland.

If you're going to post propaganda, at least try to post something that remotely makes sense and doesn't just make you look really silly.

If the war drags on, then the experience of the NATO war in Yugoslavia will be adopted. Bridges, power plants, gas and water supplies will be destroyed. Ukrainians will want any power to live normally.

There can be no missile defense system 200 kilometers from Russia. She will be destroyed before she sees the first target. The base in Redzikovo makes sense only for a preventive attack on Russia. A war in Ukraine is needed only to prevent the emergence of such a base 500 km from Moscow.

I'm not your baby sitter. If you aren't willing to educate yourself, then frankly I don't give a :icon_shithappens:.

You people don't want to know the truth because you'll realize just how wrong you are and what you are supporting.

This thread is full of dumbass posts that is nothing short of clown world.

Here's reality. Zelensky is a corrupt POS. Ukraine has a Nazi problem. Russia is taking care of the mess NATO created and funded.

    That's all.

Which is why Russia can park a sub in international waters and hit Washington DC with a nuke inside of 30 seconds.

But DC continues to do dumb :icon_shithappens: in Ukraine. Some real big brains in Washington.

On the other hand, the Russkies are doing a somewhat decent job of fighting World War I in Ukraine. Their FA units have been fairly impressive when it comes to lobbing tons of ordnance around and indiscriminately blowing things up....

    Beware Russia’s next move (msn.com)
With many Russian forces in ragged retreat from the vicinity of Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine’s north, Ukrainian forces are justifiably proud of their resilience, and some friends of Ukraine are starting to make statements such as “the big war is lost for Russia.” Beyond the obvious facts that fighting remains intense in the south, as well as the east, and that artillery and missile strikes as well as aerial bombardment prevail throughout much of the country, this kind of thinking is careless.

Perhaps the biggest risk right now is the ongoing danger to President Volodymyr Zelensky himself, together with his top advisers and military leaders. They must make every effort to maintain their own security and safety; a decapitation attack, already attempted by Russia at least twice since Feb. 24 — and possibly more times, according to one of his advisers — could quickly swing the tide of battle, if successful.

For inspiration, Zelensky, the former actor, comedian and writer, can look to the movies. Two characters in particular come to mind. One is the aging “Godfather” advising his son, Michael Corleone, of the inevitable assassination attempts to come from other Mafia families, and warning him of how to stay safe by sniffing out the ringleaders. The other is the famous “Q” in James Bond movies — the clever chap from British intelligence wielding the latest invention that 007 can use to fend off or kill an adversary when finding himself in a fix.

It looks like Putin has underestimated the Ukrainian forces and it looks like he'll keep on doing so like those before him.

What about the exact same type of base in Romania?

I'd think lasers could work, and would think the West has tested and actually has some sort of laser anti-missle/aircraft defenses

The base in Romania complements the base in Poland. In the case of the use of suitable missiles in a preventive strike, most of the retaliatory Russian potential will be destroyed and Washington will gain absolute world domination with acceptable losses for itself.

What about them? The Ukrainian military is using them for human shields, that's the only reason they've held on so long in Mariupol. They've been killing civilians trying to evacuate. There's plenty of videos out there (not from MSM fake news trash) that confirm this. Locals on the ground telling it how it really is.

And when they aren't using them for human shields, they hit them with tochka-u cluster bomb missiles for false flags.

The Russians have sustained heavy losses trying to avoid civilian deaths.

    Anything else?

that's really sweet of you to believe that....

The Russians have sustained heavy casualties because they're not a very good army
Civilians have sustained heavy casualties because the Russians are not a very good army
The special operation has dragged on and on and on and on because the Russians are not a very good army
Russian military doctrine has been turned on its head because they've now found out they're not a very good army
There are going to be lots and lots and lots of unemployed people in Russia because Russia doesn't have a very good army
Putin has shoved his head up his arse and pretended everything is okay but he knows he hasn't got a very good army
Many Generals in Moscow have been quietly escorted from the Kremlin in handcuffs for not telling Putin he's not got a very good army

....so its really sweet of you to believe that....

The war will not drag on too long because the Russians don't have staying power.

All Russia does is accuse. If Russia actually showed care for the civilian casualties that might be believable. They claim they are there to free the Ukrainians of the wicked corrupt radical control. Well then, it would be a perfect time to show their care for the loss of the innocent by exposing the "truth" and opening ways for them to safely avoid the de-nazification, yet all they do is point the finger and threat. They have no care. They have no justice or righteousness. The truth is obvious. Russia is destroying, murdering, and annexing territory with war crimes.

Sure the west does some crazy things and surely there is corruption in Ukraine, but Putin's Russia is not doing anything but destruction and aggression. It is a lie that they are there for a good cause. Putin's Russia already has a history of atrocities done in Syria and others like Georgia.
