On April 16 Vlad the Bad Putin signed a decree ordering all Russian companies to remove their listing from any and all foreign stock exchanes. This creates a huge problem for all of his nations billionaires as they will no longer be able to collect foreign currency dividends from depositary receipt programs

Well... they're billionaires with HIS money. It's the money he worked so hard to steal from the Russian people. So he feels he should have a say on how it should be invested.

This strikes me as an action that will further harm the Russian economy.

Putin isn't doing himself or his country any favors with this edict.

This is why I've been saying that sanctions won't work. Guess who are the people who are hurt by this decision by Putin? The same people who were hurt by Biden's sanctions. The pro-West oligarchs. This would speed up the transfer of power from to pro-West oligarchs to the military oligarchs. Putin is consolidating power in the hands of the military and Biden has been doing his dirty work for the past month.

It's not the Siloviki who are dying. Only people with no political power.

Good, who's investing in Russian owned business anyway.
People clown Biden for being senile, but gdanm talk about scoring a goal for the wrong team.

He is probably trying to avoid western take overs since any business remaining on the exchange must have tanked anyway. But even with such a savings, who wants anything they got? Have there been any Russian breakthroughs lately? I mean nows the time to snatch up some ownership if so. May be some R&D liquidation possibilities.

They obviously have valuable oil and mining assets which they were selling big time to NATO countries including us.

I can only conclude that the man isn't in complete control of his senses.
