The thing is, even after the admittedly inconsistent guidance by the CDC, we do know masks work to slow the spread of COVID.

Let's be clear. The CDC had said it was likely going to relax the mask mandate by early May. And I saw a headline this morning saying the Biden admin is on the fence as to whether it will appeal the ruling.

However, as a WP editorial writer wrote.........Maybe it’s time to end the mask mandate for airplanes, trains and public transport. Maybe it’s prudent to keep it in place. I’m not sure, but I do know this: That decision should be made by federal policymakers — not by a single district court judge who was ideologically predisposed to strike down the mask rule and who then contorted the law to achieve that goal.

The backdrop being that COVID is once again spreading in the US and the world.

 

And it will continue to spread. No matter what is done. Its here to stay. Just like H1N1. it is about the role of government in public health. this "unqualified" judge (i don't know her qualifications) ruled without testimony, on a subject on which she is clearly not informed. the implications of this ruling go beyond covid and into somewhat more deadly diseases.

 

That's the point. The ruling was wholly political, tortures the law, and will........like many things conservatives advocate for.......spread more death and misery.

 

Joe Biden is letting the spigot run along the southern border allowing Millions of illegals to enter without any thought to public safety or concern for their economic impact. And yes, to spread more death and misery. You really need to start cleaning up your own house at this point. Joe Biden himself said, he couldn't do anything about COVID. Wearing masks demonstrably have no effect at protecting the wearer, and unless you are sick, protecting anyone from you while you wear one. Virtue signaling and obedience isn't a public health policy.

How are these folks going to work, unless they defraud the nation by stealing real IDs to use to work? They have no net positive unless they illegally work, and isn't the left against that? As I explicitly said, the post was about the lack of qualifications of the Trump appointed judge. The mask study I included was just a way of showing the illogical way she arrived at her wrong headed decision. It was more about her flawed thinking than the negative impact on the public's health the ruling will have.
Defraud the nation? Many illegal aliens end up paying in to SS and Medicare by way of payroll taxes, the benefits of which they are ineligible to receive.

 

It really never was. It was always about trying to save lives. But yes, other demands of life, and practical limitations, have to be taken into consideration.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday asked the Justice Department to appeal a federal judge’s ruling that lifted the CDC’s mask mandate for travel on public transportation.

“It is CDC’s continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health,” the agency said in a statement. “CDC believes this is a lawful order, well within CDC’s legal authority to protect public health.”
