I gave you a link. Don't you know anything about the political movement to which you subscribe?

So how does Government play in to bias educators injecting their ideologue in to young children?

Parents don't know it all, so that lends credence to teachers do and supersede parental concerns?

Let the individual decide :wierdface:At what age? Are you saying that biased indoctrination by ideologic instructors to pre teens and younger students has some advantage over parental ideology?

Seems you are putting far to much in the hands of people you hardly know "Teachers" and clearly bow to or are willing to simply believe they will do a better job then you and other peoples children..

Don't know that I could give that much of my responsibility and Childs core values to basically a stranger! What a world we are becoming when we leave it all up to strangers :)

But what is that? Teachers are expected to be masters of their subject matter and this includes knowing and teaching the latest methodologies and techniques. Quite often this will necessarily include new politics. Infrastructure, frex, now commonly includes a social component and neglecting this will make the entire thing much less functional or it may not work at all.

At any age. The sooner they are exposed to more ideas, the better. Being exposed to limited ideas at young ages makes them much more likely to have a rigid view of the world. Views that challenge a parent's point of view are not necessarily a bad thing, and certainly not harmful, especially when that parent holds views that many would consider harmful. The point is, the more ideas they are exposed to, the more they will think for themselves, and won't be tricked into thinking there is a "right" and "wrong" way to live their life. It's their life, let them decide.

If they are being exploited, that is one thing. That is not happening. What is happening is that some parent who are offended by anything associated with "gayness" don't want their child exposed to it. The child getting a countering point of view to that is a healthy thing, when they will certainly be exposed to other genders and ways of thinking thorughout their lives, certainly moreso than when I was growing up.

Relying on parent's to provide the only guidance a child has on their views of the world is a limiting and harmful thing in my opinion. More ideas equal more freedom.

it is incredible that so many who want a christian nation do not understand that, according to the gospels, jesus was as "woke" as they come.

what is the sermon on the mount if not "SEL"

Sure. The long march is over. The left has captured in institutions. The next step is revolution.

It's also incredible that apparently all these parents are so helpless against these teachers who seem to have more control over their kids than the parents do.
Funny, when I was a kid there weren't too many who actually liked their teachers. I mean hell, who likes the very people who give you homework and tests? Point being...I find it very hard to believe that kids are adopting viewpoints of all these teachers. Parents have way more influence than any teacher could possibly ever have.

100%. The teachings of Jesus are the pinnacle of wisdom and emotional intelligence, regardless of your religion or spiritual beliefs. "Conservative" thought (whatever that means these days) is certainly not in line with the teachings of Jesus.

The idea behind these state own institutions is they are given a fair level of autonomy and self governance. The same is true for many other State Owned Enterprises like power companies, mortgage companies, post office, military etc... Politicians should not be involved in the day to day operations concerns such as staffing decisions. There is no reason to think a politician has more skill to run a university or power company than the current management team. Those that support free markets and understand the nature of SOEs should totally support these fundamental ideals. The people that don't are those blinded by partisan issues and already are part of the problem and not the solution. I have long given up on that group and they are the ones that are bringing America down.

They are the textbook publishers, obviously. I have no idea of the number or percentage of math textbooks that contain political ideology. I have no idea how popular they are with school systems. The only thing I know is that they won't be used in Florida public schools.

Are you speaking about climate change professors that have tenure?

To be honest I when I first started thinking about this idea is one of the dangers of it will impact tenured professors with radical positions more than those of the status quo. I think this could be a problem for professors pursuing research not supported by the masses of their field. If a professor's employment get reviewed periodically it is quite possible that those that are doing unorthodox research will get fired. This can be a detriment to society since many innovators in the past did not pursue main stream thought.

I think conservatives may not have thought this through. Many conservative professors participate in research often outside the field norms. Things like studies involving racial differences, climate change, immigration impacts etc...

How can you be upset about something if you have no idea how prevalent the issue is? This "issue" could amount to a bug fart yet here you are outraged about it.

You can find examples in a link I posted a few days ago. I agree with what you say with political ideology being a major exception to what I consider appropriate classroom fare. I wouldn't approve of teaching lock picking to 10 year olds or safe experimentation with explosives to children. Some schools are teaching sexual subjects to 3d graders. That makes no sense at all to me. By all means provide all the development that would benefit kids. But some things simply don't belong in a classroom.
