This is what happens when you lower the bar to get confirmed. Two of the last three justices would not have been made by the president who did so and they will be confirmed liars if they vote to overturn Roe v Wade. The third would never have gotten confirmed for lack of qualifications. To make the first step, Justice Thomas should resign to get his wife off the Supreme Court. The Senate should return to 60 to confirm to encourage more moderate nominations. Mitch Romney needs to retire. Do these things and the reputation of the Supreme Court can be restored.
Impeach Thomas along with the Judges wrongly installed and then Impeach and incarcerate Romney for malfeasance; but since just about the entirety of the present Republican Senate should be incarcerated for insurrection anyway I don't foresee that happening soon.
All you're doing is confirming that you didn't learn from what he said as you're just doing exactly what he spoke against.
If someone tells me 2+2=4 I'll agree because I already knew that. If someone else tries to tell me that I didn't learn from the 2+2=4 person I'll agree because I already knew that. If someone then tells me that I just don't understand I'll consider them a fool with no argument.
You're intelligent. You can't honestly believe that he (or any of them) want the playing field to "be fair", do you, Still?
The liberal idea that abortion is a right in the constitution is wrong. If they vote to end it they will be correcting activist judges ruling. The judge you are referring to will likely vote to end it as well. If he’s right than he’s right on that as well making the newer judges right as well. Those judges are qualified. And being married does not mean you can’t have an opinion. Do you think wives should just stand silently in the shadow of a man or what?
If you agree with him, and understand him, then why are you doing the exact type of thing he's talking about?
Only if its a conservative. All conservatives should be silent in a lefties opinion. Anyone that doesn't is a nazi, racist, homophobe, uncle tom, hiding behind their husband etc etc etc ad nauseum ect.
When you disagree with a liberal, it's not just that you have a different opinion.... This makes you a "morally bad person"..... Insert random basket of deplorables label here_ _ _ _ Do they still pretend to be tolerant of other opinions? Many of them are the very definition of bigoted.
Snotloller at lower the bar to be confirmed after y’all just LITERALLY made an affirmative action hire on the SCOTUS
It depends on the nature of the disagreement. I respect conservative's belief in limited government, low taxes, etc. Those are largely philosophical matters. I don't respect the belief Trump won the election. That's a factual matter unsupported by the facts.
Then you and that person should be able to communicate on common grounds. Learning is easy if you have a clean slate. Nobody does- and "unlearning" what you already believe is a bitch.
There have been arguments and opinions that Justice Thomas was the one who leaked the draft opinion. However, all of the Supreme Court Justices have the qualifications per the ABA with Thomas being the only one who had a split vote when his confirmation came up in the early 1990s. The problem is not the 60 vote rule, it's the political parties. No political party is going to confirm the opposing nomination no matter how qualified they are period. We are no longer in the era of common sense, duty for country above party, and so forth. Everyone is marginalized, and everyone has an ax to grind. And that is the real problem. the better solution is that anyone who is in the judicial system should not be allowed to confirm or deny their party affiliation. The Missouri rule, loosely known as. Get rid of that letter behind the name, and you will get rid of the 90% of the nonsense.
Not bad at all. I agree that we are seeing competition rather than cooperation- approval by partisan interests over patriotic ones and the desire for conflict more than compromise, and all that being put above the good of the nation.
Not a liberal idea, a constitutional one. The Due Process Clause of the 14th A protects against state action the right to privacy, and a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion falls within that right to privacy. The lack of a specific enumeration of the right has to do with the era in which the Constitution was written and is covered by the 9th A.
The delicious irony of leftist complaining of the political bent of the court these days when they've spent the last sixty years using scotus as a legislature of last resort to inflict the worst of their ideas upon us.
Tell that to Biden. A blatant political payback that excluded dozens of more qualified candidates. Basically false. None of them said they would let Roe stand automatically. Funny you'd criticize Harry Reid's nuclear option. I'll agree on Romney.
Oh, oh,...let me guess. Thomas should resign and s much more Left leaning justice be put in his place. A justice that believes the Constitution is a living document and can be interpreted, at will. Right?...lol
