I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that the University of Nevada thinks blacks would respond with violence to whites being "allowed" to live in "their" dorm, or the fact that they're probably right.

Except that if one race is superior to another, then that is a prohibited topic. Do you see the conundrum here? In order to talk about the true reasons for the holocaust, the teacher must address the racial policies of Nazism that one race, Aryan, believed they were morally, spiritually, and intellectually superior to other certain races, namely Jews, blacks, and anyone nonAryan. And that, according to HB 7, is a prohibited topic under state law. Otherwise, you are not really teaching anything about the Holocaust? IT is tantamount to teach the race part, in this specific instance, of what the Holocaust is about. It is necessary.

Now, the way you do it is that you describe that what they did was bad, very, very, very bad and that the belief that one race is superior to another is not normal for any society. Otherwise, students will have more questions than you have answers all because of what? Don't want to hurt your buddies who still believe in that philosophy?>

It's a theory, just like critical legal studies theory. It is primarily taught in law school and some graduate schools in philosophy and ethics. But that is the extent of it.

What conservatives are obfuscating about CRT is the parts of history the conservatives don't like or what is being taught; thus, the conservatives have labeled any topic the conservatives disagree with as "CRT." The conservatives do this for their so-called fake culture war so that they will try to portray themselves as morally superior, intellectually superior, and "true American hero" complex to all others while secretly hiding their true feelings and beliefs towards anyone and everyone who does not fit in their myopic view of the world.

If that sounds familiar, it is. It happened in Nazi Germany and other parts of the world, including communist countries.

Affinity housing isn't just for "blacks." It is themed housing. Texas A&M has such with its dorms for the Cadet Corps. Certain companies are themed including business, sciences, etc that are outside the normal military separation of army, navy, air force marines, special forces, Navy Seals, and so forth. There are dorms for music majors, international students, business majors, science majors, etc.

Well, you may want to look at Leith, North Dakota as an example where white supremecists attempted to take over the town.

Affinity housing for military use on campus is a bit more rare. Haven't seen it at all based on major, but it's very typical for latino and blacks.

Yes but doing so on the basis of race is discrimination. Especially when you have literally ZERO white affinity housing across the country.

It’s literally worse than separate but equal. It’s separate and zero representation for whites lol

This only applies if after you’ve informing students about CRT, the teacher explains it is just as crazy as the Nazis. The Holocaust is documented history. A group believing in crazy theories. CRT is also just an opinion shared by some whack jobs who wrote some books espousing false theories. Teaching that racism existed and still exists to a much lesser degree is GOOD. Teaching that white people are inherently racist just for being born, is factually incorrect. Teaching that every system in this country is designed around elevating white people and pushing down black people is also factually incorrect. It’s a crazy theory and invented by race baiters.

FL isn’t going to not teach about the Holocaust now. That’s insane!! Just like claims that they’re suddenly not going to teach that slavery existed. Crazy.

You are completely wrong. Teaching that a murderous, vile, evil "human" believed such things, and acted upon it to the cost of millions of lives does not at all go against HB 7, either as written, or as meant. It's only if you went further, and taught your class that you think Hitler was actually correct to think that, and that you, his students should too, does one cross the line. And I doubt you'd even have to endorse the students to think so, too, just endorsing those vile ideas is enough.

The problem is you guys are so desperate to teach things like (but not exclusive, or limited to) white people should pay black people reparations for stuff that went down centuries ago, or that living whites are somehow at fault for those things, or for any problems living blacks might have today, or that white skin is magical and gives you things that others can't get that you're willing to completely make up this sort of crap and hope nobody notices.

    Well... We noticed.

    Emphasis mine.

But holy bejeebus, man, you are grasping at straws. 20 whole people?? If I get a couple of cousins in on the act, myself, my brothers, and the aforementioned cousins could take over a town of that size, but to what end? The no doubt enormous mayoral salary? Total nothingburger.

Not to mention some cult also tried that with a small to mediumish town in Oregon some years ago, though it was much larger than 20 whole people. Didn't work then, either.

But my point was to point out hypocrisy. If a neighborhood is all black, "by choice", that's cool, but find me one that's all white, "by choice", and I'll show you a neighborhood that either has been or will be labeled as raysist. (sic)

Yes, teaching that one race is superior to another is a prohibited topic. As it shoudl be. That doesn't mean you can't teach that one group thought that, such as the Nazi's. Your misrepresentation isnt working lol. Teaching about the holocoast is not the same as teaching that one race is better than another...its teaching that one group of people thought that to be true at one point.

There is nuance there that matters lol. Your inability to see that nuance is not my fault. You are arguing in favor of teaching racism.

Since platoons and companies sleep together to form that bond, Texas A&M has some affinity housing for its cadets. It does not advertise it, but I have personally seen it.

For majors, it is becoming popular. There is a dorm at the University of North Texas that specifically houses international students and music. The University of North Texas is known for its music programs and has one of the largest international student populations as a percentage of the total student populations in the country. And with majors, it is usually called learning communities, but it is the same principle.

That would prohibit that too, according to the law. It provided no specifics and made a very broad statement under the law. Thus, it will hinder teaching real history because of this.

All I want is to teach history, all of it, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

No it wouldn’t, you are wrong lol. You are purposefully misinterpreting it to fit a false narrative you so desperately want to be true. That’s just not the case lol. It will not hinder teaching history, it will hinder teaching inherently racist crt.

I gave an example. You did not emphasize or critique the size of such action. I also said, "attempted" and was glad the town rejected such things.

So again, you wanted something in which a white supremecist group would want something in an all white town. Or can we look at Arab, Alabama too. I will simply use Henry Cho.

I am simply using the original language of HB 7 and what Governor DeSantis has said, period. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Way I see it you have three options:
    1. Conservatives will have to use the argument of the original intent for all bills, including this one, which means no teaching that one race is superior to another no matter what the facts and circumstances are. Those facts and circumstances are never listed in the bill.
    2. Conservatives admit that they are using interpretation and only to include any race theory they disapprove of, which would mean, black, Asian, and Latino only, but not white supremacy.
    3. Conservatives admit that they don't want certain topics of history to not be taught where the race was a primary or significant factor in the history involved.

    Choice is yours.

No, you are misinterpreting the language to fit a propaganda cnn narrative. There is no reasonable interpretation that conflates teaching why wars have happened to teaching racism. There is a distinct difference between teaching racism, and teaching how racism has contributed to wars in the past. This simply makes it so you cannot teach the inherently racist crt with its abundance of calls to action. You are wrong.

So when we taught history since 1865, was all of that a call to action for “Marxism” then ?

We’ve been teaching this stuff since it happened, and its always been called HISTORY class. But since the right in this country has lost their damn minds, now everything is some conspiracy against them, everything is some “call to action”, “Marxism”, “left wing indoctrinations”, etc, etc, etc.

The rigth in this country, since Trump, has claimed victim at every turn, blamed everything they do on someone else, and all they ever talk about are how their feelings are being hurt.

It’s a joke in this country anymore. The right has become an episode of X-Files

Nope, but when we started teaching crt to kids, yes we absolutely began teaching racism and giving a call to action. Your entire position is projection.

    I have been VERY specific.

What YOU are doing is misrepresenting CRT and claimings its just teaching history. In your incorrect argument, there is no difference between CRT and history. If that were the case we wouldn't need CRT lol. By your own argument CRT isn't necessary.
