BLM founder Patrisse Cullors paid her baby father $970,000 for ‘creative services’, her brother $840,000 for security, a fellow director $2.1m and reimbursed the organization $73,000 for a charter flight, funded by WOKE chumps

And every woke American company donated millions to this racist grift. Not to mention the six million dollar mansion they purchased in cash with money that had been donated to BLM — with more than half a dozen bedrooms and bathrooms, several fireplaces, a soundstage, a pool and bungalow, and parking for more than 20 cars.

In its latest 990, the Black Lives Matter (Racist Hate Group) Global Network Foundation Inc. revealed that it ended the last fiscal year – from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 – with nearly $42million in net assets.

You won't find these stories from the leftist media.
    Wonder why.

The donations did not go to help people, it's a scam and a fraud. The people, cities, states and companies who donated should demand refunds. Do you folks know there was a blm flag in Afghanistan? The scam would make Bernie Maddoff proud.

I would like to see someone sue them. This is an obvious case of fraud.
Donors should sue for their money to be returned. I won't be among the plaintiff list.
The original idea was honorable, then scam artists and self interested parties took over.

    Okay, read the NYPost article.

So you are arguing what? Did she commit tax fraud? Did BLM commit tax fraud? Not sure why you are posting this because nothing in the NYPost article indicates any wrongdoing. It implied something nefarious was going on with the $970k being spent on services by the co-founder's father of her child, that it purchased assets and that it invested in stocks. But from an accounting standpoint, it's hard to tell.

So, we are going to take this, one by one. There is no law that prevents ANY organization from hiring-related parties. Related party expenses are deductible, whether for a for-profit organization or not for profit organization. The key is what is reasonable under 26 USC 162 and its related regulations, under 26 USC 267, and for loans, under 26 USC 7872 and its subsequent regulations. In addition, the assets being purchased may be unrestricted or restricted depending if the donation is unrestricted or restricted as well. Assets would include stock investments, real property, or personal property. Personal property is any property that is not real property and is not intangible property under The Code. Considering the size of the organization, I have no doubt a professional CPA firm probably manages/audits the books internally while another firm does the tax return based on the books.

Let's look at the services of Paul Cullors for $870k. Okay, for this to be tax fraud, what specific services was he providing, was there a contract or other documentation indicating the necessary and ordinary nature of the expense, can we compare such expense to similar expenses of nonprofit organizations with the same amount of assets and expenditures, especially a nonprofit as hated by one group of people towards the organization, and so forth. That would need to be determined first, and listing the expense shows a relationship matter that must be reported. And this can also be said with Damon Turner who was paid $970k for creative services. Both of these expenditures could fall under IRC 162 if it was reasonable and necessary. For it to be reasonable, a variety of factors, some of which I gave, must be addressed first before using the word "tax fraud."

Investments in stock is a common way for nonprofits to invest their money, get a return that is far better than interest in a bank account. The investments would have to reason, that is, no speculative stocks or bonds. Speculative stocks mean the fundamentals of the stock do not show an apparent strength or sustainable business model. And we are not talking about stocks or companies you do not agree with here or the volatility of the stock market right now. The only issue is was the only used restrive or not restrictive. And the article does not make that clear.

Let's look at purchases of luxury homes. Nothing in the Internal Revenue Code suggests or decides that is not illegal. The question in the code is how the property was used and whether or not when the property was sold if a loss can be deducted. The questions will be what is the intended purpose of the home and does the intended purpose meet the core obligations or mission statement of the organization. Nonprofit organizations that deal with battered women will buy large residential homes, some on the luxury side, for the purpose to shelter battered/abused women in a safe environment. The reason why luxury homes are popular is that they are remote, have extensive security apparatuses such as video, high fences, and lots of neighbors who have people keeping a watch on things. And that will also depend on local ordinances. For an organization like BLM, documentation is the key and the 990 does not provide all the answers, or even some, to this question. And TEGE division of the IRS rarely audits nonprofits these days for politiciking even if it is against the regulations or for questionable expenditures, regardless if the nonprofit is religios, civic, educational, etc.

So, lets look at the reason, if, all or most of the items listed were questionable with an audit necessary by the IRS under the Tax Exempt/Government Entities Division. ProPublica did an extensive investigation on the subject. Basically, the GOP congress has gutted the IRS budget for audits so much that the IRS continues its downward trend of in-person audits for the past decade, especially in the upper-income levels. The only good grace or the AUR audits, the matching audit program between what's reported as income on the return and what information documents, the 1099s/W2s are reported, among other things. And since the GOP controlled the purse strings most of the time, they have no one to blame but themselves.

    Sue them? Why?

I mean, yeah it's fraud, but it's a legal type of fraud. Black Lives Matter is a 501(3)c organization and the law allows much of the looting of the money donated. I bet that except for some tax issues (because they didn't seem to know what they were doing) they probably did nothing illegal. The purpose of these organizations is to BE a legal type of scam to collect money from rubes. It's like the lotto, only instead of targeting poor people it targets upper middle class and rich virtue seekers and corporations.

Remember when Karl Rove collected 42 million from his PAC for losing the Presidency for Mitt Romney? Remember when SPLC stashed half a billion dollars in an off shore account?

    The Lincoln Project?

    Nuff said.

I can neither confirm nor deny no matter what organization it is: religious, civic, conservative, liberal, educational, think tank, veterans, etc. Those types of questions are outside the purview of political discussion and I generally do not provide detailed information on who I donated to or not. My post was strictly from an accounting standpoint and my professional experience.

However, you did answer my question and yes, you do suspect some sort of tax fraud. However, considering you are not an accountant, CPA, or anything like that, you have the right to make that claim if you want to, but you have neither the education nor experience to make your tax fraud argument stick in any debate with me, even with the very limited information at hand.

You have not proven anything personal. Just because you have related party transactions, does not mean it is personal. IRS requires certain related transactions to have disclosure statements for most for profit and nonprofit organizations. It is obvious that was met based on the NYPost article, which may lead to believe there was a related purpose to the transactions. And with organizations like this, I can guarantee you at least one, maybe two Accounting/CPA firms were hired to keep the books, internally audit the books, and use those reports to file the 990s.

But the big question remains, the IRS budget to audit organizations like this and others has been cut by the GOP. Not enough personnel and resources are available to do this type of thing that may tax 6 months to do with a team of two or three auditors. One on income, one on expenses, and one on the balance sheet.

Unfortunately, whether BLM supporters are angry will probably depend on what percent of donors were white and what percent were black.

If 98% of the actual money donated came from white folks (which is likely the case), then many will just see this as "justice" that now there is one more black woman who has been elevated up into the ranks of the rich.

I know many will have trouble believing that, but you have only to look at South Africa, where it was seen as "progress" when corporate stock ownership was taken from thousands of white affluent middle class people and given to one very wealthy black man who thereafter became a billionaire. (The government had implemented a law where 50% of the ownership in large corporate companies had to be held by black owners... or in this case owner)

Companies were handing them millions to blackwash their brands. They got what they paid for. The rest are just minor details.

Since I didn't make any claim about tax fraud, I have nothing to respond with.
Other than you trying to take the conversation off topic because you can't dispute what was posted.
Guess you will have to find what ever poster you were talking about tax fraud.

I claimed they didn't use the money for its intended purpose.

Pretty sure you pointed out what they would get hammered for.

Her personal house, which she’s using for her personal use.

But hey I’m cool with it. That was millions of dollars they could have used to promote leftist ideology but instead they bought themselves a house and enriched their crackhead family lol

    Keep giving them money lol

The gave the floyd family a whooping 200k. They have now reported 42 mil in assets after raising 90+ million and the founder said was mostly white guilt donations. What a scam and as a 501c3 California is investigating because they didn't get their cut via taxes lol

First off, I'm no lawyer. But I hate to see people get away with stuff like this. There's too much of it going on, I think if someone forms a non-profit organization, they should be held accountable, and there is civil court, where I would hope something could be done about this. Maybe tax evasion on the legal side of things.
More recently, Trump Org. had to pay millions to the Veterans Admin. and some of the donors to the Trump PAC., so how can these people get away scott free?
If nothing else, I do believe in Karma, so in the end maybe there will some justice done.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. This is why I have quit donating money to any large national groups, no matter that cause. I donate to smaller local groups that I'm pretty sure use the money wisely.

The conservation was not off-topic. Again, what was the purpose of the article? I will give you a hint? Something nefarious. Nefarious will more than likely indicate tax fraud or ethics However, considering that conservative nonprofit organizations also do this sort of thing and is not reported in the news generally. Or do you want to create different rules for different folks here?
