Over his first nine months in office, President Biden has lost support among Americans of all stripes — men and women, Black voters and white voters, Zoomers and Baby Boomers. Even Democrats writ large are more disenchanted. But two groups with whom Biden has lost support stand out: independents and Hispanics. Independents have soured on Biden to the extent that his approval ratings among this group approach the strongly negative ratings they gave then-President Donald Trump at the same point in his presidency, while increased disapproval of Biden among Hispanics could signal they are moving further away from Democrats after they shifted somewhat toward Trump and the GOP last November. . . .

 

Yeah.. . well.... making up your own definitions will not get you far if you expect to be taken seriously in a discussion.

 

I'm not the one redefining what a simple majority is.

Regan defeated Carter by 9.7 points, compared to Hiden's 4.5 points over Trump.

Regan had a mandate. Hiden does not.

Reagan also took 489 Electoral Votes compared to Carter's 49 Electoral Votes.

In contrast, as the CFR notes, if Trump picked up the right mix of 42,921 votes in Arizona (10,457), Georgia (11,779), and Wisconsin (20,682), the Electoral College would have been tied at 269 all.

10,457 + 11,779 + 20,682 = 42,918 votes scattered across 3 States to give Hiden enough Electoral College Votes.

We can compare that to Trump's 77,700 votes scattered across Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2016 to give him the Electoral Vote win.

To suggest that Trump had a mandate in 2016 would be just as absurd as claiming Hiden has a mandate.

We can go to 1984 where Reagan stomped all over Mondale with 525 Electoral Votes to Mondale's tiny 15 Electoral Votes.

We can also look at the point margin. Reagan won the popular vote by a margin of 18.2 points, almost 4x time the margin of Hiden.

There is simply no method of analysis that can support a claim that Hiden has a mandate.

trump claimed a mandate with the exact number of electors and no popular vote majority. ir would be difficult to say that biden was not elected to accomplish those simple objectives.

 

Biden won because he promised to restore normalcy. He failed in that promise drastically and now next time 2000 mules won't be enough.

Yes once again . speaking on behalf of Tyranny - 50+1 is no mandate in a Constitutional Republic .. and while this plays out in congress .. I am talking about consent of the Governed .. in terms of what the people think "Public Opinion" and Legitimacy of Authority on this basis.
