Checked the Thermometer here .. only 98 degrees, it's not "death ray" until it at least 105.

Did put my lunch on the dash to warm it up a little, after fetching it from the fridge.

I used to have a picture of cookies being baked on someone's dashboard (stolen off the internet). Pretty warm here today also.

Was your lunch a grilled cheese sandwich?

My DIL is about to leave the house for the hospital to have my 2nd granddaughter. Yesterday, I made sandcastles on the beach with my 1st granddaughter.

    Congratulations 'Buelo!

Just off the phone with my youngest nieto, well, with his folks, he's two and a half, calls me "po". My granddaughter in El Paso gave me the moniker "po-po", it was funny.. about the first time she didn't spend the first hour warming up to me

Started to rain last night around 2am, ran out to put the bait undercover (we'd been washing cars yesterday afternoon) and praised the Lord that we were getting precipitatin after months of no rain. and then it quit, i messed up putting the rain bait up! Looks like it is raining here abouts, but it's not here, and the sprinkle last night wawsn't even enough to settle the dust.

Left the the newly washed vehicle out all day, clouds built up, and then.. no rain. Wouldn't take the bait.

I know how that feels. I trucked about 600 gallons of water to my fish and my garden. I pumped it out of the river.....expensive. It did rain here but I watered the garden on top of that. I put about 200 gallons in my big fish tank. I am also set up to catch more rainwater. My bluegill are eating size but I want one pounders. It is an experiment to see if I can get good size gills in small spaces. They have already bred. I got babies.

It happens all the time here in Florida. Raining in the front yard, not in the back. Raining on the neighbor, not on us.

I lived in Chicago for 33 years. Saw that exactly one time. It happens constantly down here.

We got a good rain here. I had just dumped or pumped out all of my rain collecting containers. After collecting about 600 gallons from the river and local stream my fish ponds are full and my water supply is back up. I also watered my garden more than usual and it shows. The garden is doing pretty good. I am finishing up this round of gardening with Hales best cantoloupe and black diamond watermelon. Then it is upstairs to work on my fish pond/ patio area.

    *sizzle*

I like heat, I'd rather sweat than freeze, but even that is a little much for me.

We have a weather station type remote thermostat on the mini-greenhouse. Highest temp recorded last year inside, was 127 degrees. We've got plans for a sun dodger for this summer.

Did you build your greenhouse or buy one of those prefab things? We are talking about getting one.

We dug the potatoes a couple of days ago and big disappointment the fire ants got to some of them. Fire ants can be so destructive. Most of the onions I planted are harvested and we are getting squash, zucchini, a few peppers and beans. No cucmbers yet.

Prefab, 8x6? Bought it at Northern Tool about 5 years ago, got it put up about 2 years ago. Around $250?

A gardening friend of mine built one from old discarded windows and a bunch of salvaged 2x4s (wrecked out of a house flippers were working on). Spent a week pulling nails out of the 2x4s, spent another 2 weeks building the green house. Windows for walls and roof, open and close the windows for ventilation. Maybe 6'x6'x7 foot tall, low pitch on the roof so they could reach the windows to open. The final cost was somewhere around $100.
