She assumed office on January 3 2021. Was removed from committees on February 4th 2021. Not exactly much time to do anything now is it? As slow as government works that's probably about how long it took just to assign her to the committee's she was on.

The $12T is the low end of the cost of the Green New Deal for a 10 year period. She is also a proponent of the Modern Monetary Theory. A theory which is all about creating money and not caring about the deficit. Even if you need to print money to do something.

Nothing more than a deflection. We're talking about AOC and MTG. Not Trump.

We need leaders like MTG and J D Vance. They love the USA and at least they give their opinion, take it or leave it, but it's easy to understand. Meanwhile we got empty heads like Biden and Harris with no opinion reading confusing words of gobbledygook from a teleprompter. They are oh so smart and strong leaders.

I've heard plenty of Democrats none-too-happy with AOC and Friends. Toss in Bernie Sanders and Warren. Eric Adams ate their lunch in NYC.

She was a greenhorn, but she, like a newborn fawn stumbling while attempting to gain footing, she is finding her footing as she matures. as a Congresswoman, but Greene is batshit crazy. Apparently you are unable to discern the difference.
I think it's wiser to err on the side of the alarmists than the deniers. If we do something and we are wrong, all we've lost is money and effort. If we do nothing and we are wrong, we could lose the planet. So, I'll take AOC over Greene any day of the week.

No one knows for sure. That's the point, so the question is, on which side is it wiser to err?

If we do something and we are wrong, all we've lost is money and effort. If we do nothing and we are wrong, we could lose the planet where it might have been worth trying to save it, even if the chances of saving it are slim.

We should at least try, for to do nothing, that just doesn't sound wise to me.

You're assuming we can anticipate every consequence of fiddling with the climate. I think we'd be more likely to muck things up irreparably.

The argument we should be governed by elites in a country that once prided itself on government of, by and for the people is concerning.

You are missing the point entirely.

You can disagree with AOC on her policy decisions, but that doesn't negate the fact when it comes down to who is batshit crazy, it's Greene, not AOC.

There are a number of republicans whose policy decisions I feel are grossly wrong, but they are not saying batshit crazy things, I mean, crazier than crazy, such as “It’s odd, there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.” (denying that the Pentagon wasn't hit by a plane") or suggesting that wildfires could be the result of space lasers missing their targets. That's what I mean by braindead crazy, NOT whether or not you agree policy decisions. The OP is about GREENE, NOT AOC.

Oh, yeah, right, so then, we can't be criticizing anyone for anything crazy **** they do because, what, we 'empower them'?

    Give me a break.

And, FYI, your characterization of my OP as 'hysterical', is text book hysterics, not my OP.

Yes, but AOC is still one of the very best DC politicians in Washington.

"Ocasio-Cortez has squared off on Twitter against such varied media outlets as the New York Post, The Washington Post, Politico, the Hill newspaper, CBS News, Fox News and Glenn Beck's Blaze TV for statements she deemed offensive, inaccurate or just tone deaf."
WASHINGTON POST, When it comes to calling out the news media, Ocasio-Cortez has some things in common with Trump, BY Paul Farhi, February 13, 2019. (emphasis mine)

Okay, even if I concede on the timeline point, anyone that asserts there is no evidence for the plane that hit the pentagon, or suggests that wildfires might be caused by space lasers missing their targets, or giving 'likes' to comments that suggest a bullet to the head of Pelosi is acceptable, or suggest that Pelosi is guilty of treason, but not only that, she should be executed because of it, and she said it more than once, has no business being in congress, period. Therefore, the short time you referred to is a moot point. Nor does it negate the point I made that we have plenty of videos of AOC doing her job in a very competent manner.

Well, your comment proves that being a member of PF doesn't gaurantee there won't be simplistic, kneejerked and vacuous rebuttals.

I encourage hysterical political attacks. Especially late in an election cycle.
Political hysteria is as American as cherry pie.

But not as American as apple pie. ;-)

Bongino calls them "smart stupid people" or sumptin like that. I've called it "educated to stupidity",

Once read that in civics, HSers were better informed (smarter) about civics, than when they graduated Harvard and th eilk.

You are pettifogging my reply. Let's get back on track:

    You wrote:

You are implying my criticism is hysterical, which it is not, but your characterization is.

As for 'American as apple pie'. Well, Americans attacked the capital because of their hysterical reaction to Trump's speech.

Hysterics, however common to the American fabric, are not a good thing.

Not everything about America is a good thing, and therefore your indication of that fact does not mitigate the premise of my rebuttal.
