Anyone know if the shooter suicided or if the cops took him out?

So they had a school resource officer like probably every school in the country?

Is he or she the one that responded first and shot the gunman?

Oops, you didn't do your research again. This pharma product comes with a "Use at your own risk" disclaimer. You cannot sue for side effects.

I pass 2 schools on my way to work. Every student is escorted from the car to the building by an armed guard. Killers will always choose an easy target.

The governor suggested that he was shot and killed by law enforcement last time I checked.

He was on the run from the cops...

"According to multiple reports from local news outlets, this shooter was a murder suspect who was being pursued by the local police. There was a report on his truck when the pursuit ended at Robb Elementary School. He proceeded to leave his truck and got inside the school to start firing at people indiscriminately"

    https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/us-news/2022/05/24/628d4375e2704e8f648b458b.html

This is why you can't just let criminals run away instead of chasing them, or shooting them.

The difference in the headlines is STARK.

The Buffalo one was dripping with references to race, this one .. nothing. Not a word.

Anyone who thinks we're not living in a post-truth propagandised-to-death dystopia, only needs to SEE that. Not notice then brush aside .. but really see it. If they'll do this, they'll do anything.

Well, zero armed faculty didn't seem to work out very well this time. Did it?

How's the gun free zone thing working out?

We have a highly multicultural society already. There are many parts of this country wherein you'll see very few white people.

Perhaps you weren't aware of that?

Sure, but guns are used much more frequently. Perhaps because they are easier to use, more effective, and kill more quickly?

The fact is, in the USA, where people value freedom before all else, we CAN'T force people to change and be better people.

The only way to slow down the frequency and severity of mass murder events IS to change or restrict the method of killing to give people that don't WANT guns, or cannot responsibly USE guns, a chance to survive.

    Or do they not matter?

It should be an option. Polk County Fla Sherriff Grady Judd has an armed teacher program in his county - the same county as the Lakeland school shooting. Teachers & staff who volunteer have to pass an exhaustive background check, and then undergo training even more intensive than his own deputies have to go thru. Maybe not the answer, but it should certainly should be an option. Otherwise, cower & hide & wait to be slaughtered will always be the outcome.

Here's an example of a not uncommon street scene in suburban Australia.

I know..... Anytime the race is not a prominent part of the headline that means that our shooter was not a white person.

Probably a good chance the kid was an illegal too

I think the cops shot him. I also think he shot two cops, that’s usually a death sentence right there.

Guns are more effective and kill more quickly than explosives? I don't think you understand much about firearms ballistics or explosives.

A bullet is traveling very slowly compared to the shockwave of an explosion. Everything in a 360° radius is affected by an explosion. Bullets only work on what they're directly pointed at.

The 2nd Amendment says nothing about a right to kill anyone let alone school children it says those teachers had a right to be armed and perhaps someone could have put him down with less loss of life.

And now the VP is no TV politicizing it without knowing if this was due to mental illness, if the gun was even obtained illegally, or even what kind of gun it was and how any laws she wants would have prevented it.

And the MORE these politicians go on the air and make their pleas and highlight the event the more likely a copycat killer looking for the same way to go out it a blaze of evil glory. The President going on national TV tonight without knowing any of the facts to try and divide the nation and take advantage of emptions.

    Dispicable.

This is some very serious manipulation of the peons - which SHOULD trigger an epiphany. The epiphany of recognising the tip of an iceberg.

We have similar places here in the USA, they’re called Chicago, Compton, St Louis, Baltimore, etc.

    Okay?

People still use guns much more frequently than explosions.

Likely because explosions require more prep work, have a higher degree of failure than guns, are more likely able to be noticed before they can be detonated than guns, etc.

And there is nothing stopping people from restricting materials used to make bombs if they start getting used more than guns.

What would you do to reduce the frequency or severity of mass killing attack's?

Or would you be okay with doing nothing?

All I know is that I grieve for the children who died and even more for their parents, some of whom probably wish they were dead now as well. I want to watch the news to stay informed, but it's hard to do anymore.

In the 60s, everyone I knew had a gun. And ammo. Some of us displayed them on gun racks in our pickup trucks that we parked just outside the school. Nobody cared. We hardly even noticed. There have always, always been school shootings in America, but they are becoming more frequent. https://www.kunc.org/2019-05-17/are-school-shootings-becoming-more-frequent-we-ran-the-numbers

Nobody. Nobody is raising them. Social media is.

I'd be willing to bet money grandma was his guardian.
