So why didn't your boy Trump and the GOP do anything when they had complete control to remove this so called red tape for these oil companies? I guess that huge tax break to corporations was more important than the price of gas, huh?

Dems arguing over 5 billion dollars, said it was too expensive, now were sending 10X that to Ukraine. May take decades to repair the damage Biden has done.

How do you feel about a "sucky few decades"? Because any kind of "transitioning" away from gasoline will take decades.

I read the OP, but you'll have to be more specific if you think some other post is relevant. That OP doesn't address the Southern Strategy, or recent history generally. Why ignore the last 50 years of politics just because southern democrats before that were racists? Oh right I know, it's not truth you're after, just owning the libs.

    To the forum in general:

    Please note that WalterSobchak has:
[1] completely ignored the truth bombs within my prior post.
[2] resorted to personal attacks regarding my intelligence/beliefs.
[3] attempted to change the subject from the thread topic to the 2020 "elections".
[4] blurted out Trump's name even though this discussion has absolutely NOTHING to do with Trump.

Is that a reasonable response to someone who explained that leases are not permits and the hoops that companies have to jump through due to a government that is chasing a "6uild 6ack 6etter" agenda, using a fake Climate Change "crisis" as a tool to accomplish that?

Not strongly opposed to that either, but we are well positioned to handle it, unlike many...

It's probably going to happen eventually, and I like my pain up front, and while we CAN transition and not be forced...

He managed, against all odds, not to be removed from office, one way or the other....

Think of all the chances, including a severe health scare.... and 2% ramps to navigate....

Yet the kind of gasoline prices you're talking about are so high that I won't get to see my granddaughter as often,

    Nothing is worth that

So who did all these party switchers vote for in elections other than for president? Oh it was Democrats all the way? You don’t say…. You know that’s quite a unique definition of switching parties. Also, what happened in 92 and 96? It was quite the mixed result in the south…

Edit: on topic- the gas prices are too damn high!

It's not, but something like 8 or 10 "pods" for the lack of a better word, that appeared to be about 10'x10' on the ground and maybe 30-40' tall held 40 YEARS worth of nuclear waste from a single reactor. And though it hasn't been allowed to be finished, we have a place that I think is called "Yucca Mountain" that is designed to hold tens of thousands of those or similar storage containers well underground and away from where they could cause problems even if, say, the entire complex collapsed on top of itself due to an earthquake.

Then again, even the waste from solar isn't "clean". Or electric cars powered by lithium batteries. The only "clean" source of energy that I can think of would be nuclear fusion, which is different from the nuclear fission processes we use now (and need more of, it is the best option we currently have), but humankind hasn't yet figured out how to create a nuclear fusion power plant.

I didn’t say that either. I said what policy did he sign that made prices rise AFTER he left? Reading comprehension? I’ll make it clearer for you. While he was in office what did he do to raise prices only AFTER he left? Because they didn’t blow up until after, but how did he impact them? What messing with the oil market did he do? Having us drill more? Selling oil to other countries? That’s a GOOD thing.

And he must be a genius to have such amazing control over things long after he’s unable to create policy:)

They did. That was reverted by Biden. Nice try though.

Yes, that's because oil is traded on a speculative market. When that market sees potential supply issues, the costs go up before that supply issue is even realized.

The trading increased the cost of barrels for three primary reasons.

    1. The war in Ukraine created presumed production. Shortfalls out of Russia.

    2. Higher demand as the economies globally reopened.

    3. Actions by president Biden to reduce production and ease of brining product to market.

Those are the facts. Now with inflation from our of control spending, oil is trading higher because they see a recession pending which will quell demand as supply ramps up.

What's not being talked about were the billions oil companies lost just a year prior as demand became all but non-existent and barrels of oil were actually worth negative dollars.

Simply saying "they greedy" is lazy.

What a completely baseless argument. I didn't admit anything!!ll Why you would think so is .........weird. Go ahead a prove your point that it's more profitable due to "regulatory factors" and that Biden is supporting them....we'll wait. As far as the oil lease sale....so what. Even if they did have one before it has little to no effect on the current gas prices. As far as the rest of your post, it's too nonsesensical to address.
