Vouchers should not be for more than a parent paid in taxes, if they can't afford private school, they should go to public school

    Not true.
Monarchists (and similar) might well use the phrase.

What lies are you talking about? I hear this nonsense a lot. It must have been spread around the far left blogosphere.

if you have 10 kids, build a private school for them

    10 kids times 5k vouhers = 50k a year

    $50,000.00 x 13 years = $1,300,000 for just one family

mom gets paid for a full time job of homeschooling her children

you could pay off the building just with that, sell it when they graduate and retire

Why should impressionablz children have to live in a faith based home, go to à faith based school and attend further faith based lessons?

In the Maine case being discussed here, vouchers should be for the exact amount spent per student in comparable public districts. Not a penny more and not a penny less

Or you could require public school students of parents not paying taxes equal to the cost of public education to chip in the difference. :)

Lots of families are fleeing public schools. Partly due to violence and the inability of the school to control gangs within the school. Partly to do with losing sight of the "three R's" in favor of social indoctrination. They can get expensive, but the produce better students than many public schools. Private schools rightly kick out troublemakers.
Lastly there is no difference between public and private except for usually one religion class. (AFAIK, it may be optional now).
The taxpayers benefit by the education kids receive in private religious schools.
Start your own Anti-Trump school. "Now children..." crickets...

School choice is school choice. If someone chooses to send their kids to a religious school, what business is it of anyone else's?

if they choose it, they can pay for it, not take money from the public school system

I am all for giving them a tax break for what they paid in if they use private schools, their choice

LOL. You think they are inferior. Are you naturally bigoted or was it caused by your education?

Can you provide any empirical evidence those who attend religious type schools are inferior academically or behaviorally to the product of public education? Let’s examine evidence as opposed to more of your unsubstantiated opinions.

It would provide a model for public education to follow. Better education for far less cost. Everyone wins when there is competition and innovation.

Because they're children....? Why should impressionable children have to live in liberal homes and go to liberal schools? It is nothing but brainwashing.

So? You Disappointed they aren't brainwashed to be godless marxist?

More likely our children will be taught critical thinking skills.... haven't seen much of that in government run schools for decades now..

Shouldn't the same principals you invoked against Critical Race Theory apply to Religion?

Religion isn't taught in public schools. CRT is. Comparison fail.

Apparently you can't tell the difference between a private school and a public school. How can I help?

CRT is a theory that started in woke academia, largely law schools, where they attempt to link racism (past and current) to disparate outcomes in social, legal, etc settings. Many proponents of this theory have decided to dumb these lectures down to elementary levels and push these academic theories on children. It has led to small children in public schools being told based on the color of their skin that they they are racist or victims of racism, oppressors or oppressed, etc. It's controversial because people don't want the government telling their five year olds that they're evil racists due to the skin color they were born with (among other things). Some liberals want it to be taught because they feel it's never to early to indoctrinate children into the beliefs of identity politics where their individuality is stripped away and they are labeled based on their immutable characteristics.

    1. Insults? Check.
    2. No purpose? Check.

I don't watch television and I've never been to any blog except a few cooking/baking sites owned and operated by my friends.

    What else?

Yet, none of you seemed to mind that ALL children are taught that the only "good" people and "contributors" to the birth of this nation and continued progress are white men isn't hateful? That's rhetorical. I don't give a damn about what you think about it.

I guess that makes sense in your world.

Perhaps a voucher to pay for a school that teaches reading comprehension! :)
