    https://thepostmillennial.com/we-wo...arade-bans-them-from-participating-in-uniform

    HYPERLINK has full article

    snip

Earlier this month, the Executive Board of Seattle Pride, Krystal Marx and Carmen Rivera, announced, "Due to the history of Stonewall Sunday and the fact that Pride was birthed from a riot against police brutality, Seattle Pride will not permit police uniforms, police vehicles, any police insignia, or police propaganda to walk in any parade contingency."

    end snip

Should the sub-title of the article perhaps be....the woke are out-woked ?

The Seattle police force is about as far left as any law enforcement agency could be. Look at the lack of police response to CHOP/CHAZ when leftists took over a neighborhood including a police station.

Now, their woke deeds seem to not be enough for the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ community

Wow I didn’t even know this about the pride here, and I live just east across lake Washington from Seattle. What a bunch of racist nut jobs. We’re really giving the Portland whackjobs a run for their money eh? Or, more accurately, a run for their rioted and looted money.

So if the police decide to march how will Seattle Pride stop them?

So what did the Seattle police do to piss off the local LGB community? Is this all because of the Floyd fiasco?

They have their own police. The uniform is a bit different!

Never support any woke community. You can never be woke enough to avoid their irrational hate.

It took like 50 years for the cops to apologize and admit they were wrong / the cops only came to turns how wrong they were 3 years ago.
It would be a bit strange that they now join and parade around as some kind of hero to the good cause.

I do recall they tried to enter the parade before somewhere.

It is the police in general. Pride was originally a march against the police. I think it is stupid for organizers to ban the police but there is still a ton of issues between most minority communities and the police.

Seattle residents don't even bother with the police anymore. Washington state has good gun laws, they can just protect themselves.

I'd note that it's not really the fault of the police, it's the fault of the courts and DA. Not much point in police doing their best to arrest criminals if they're pipelined back out on the streets.

I don’t recall gays having a particularly hard time with the cops. My family members never complained about them at all. I think the Seattle folks are wrong here.

If you’re a gay cop you can’t even wear your uniform to an event? That seems silly.

I am offended that you used the word "silly" within a thread about homosexuals

Incorrect, most minority communities have an issue with police. The police overwhelmingly do their jobs correctly.

And yet the police will provide traffic control for the parade. It wouldn't bother me one bit if the police called in sick that day.

So you feel the public duty and sworn service of our law enforcement officers is dependent on if the group lets them march with them?

    Fascinating.

It was a visceral reaction on my part.

Truth be known, street cops are used to taking and compartmentalizing hostility and insults.

What's fascinating to me is that those same cops are going to enable the parade with their protection and traffic control. And, the cops who would want to be in the parade would be overwhelmingly gay cops. But the gay community in Seattle is telling those gay cops who are helping and protecting them to go f-ck themselves.

    It’s in the link

"Due to the history of Stonewall Sunday and the fact that Pride was birthed from a riot against police brutality, Seattle Pride will not permit police uniforms, police vehicles, any police insignia, or police propaganda to walk in any parade contingency."
