why don't you tell us what you were hoping for? More say Randy Weaver type government violence? shooting a kid in the back or a mother holding her baby in her head with a sniper rifle in an effort to "enforce" unconstitutional gun control?

what do you claim would stop this and is stopping gun violence really your agenda or is it harassing lawful gun ownership.

    Hi, Turtledude.

If I can be said to have an agenda, it's to alert people to the tragedy of our [US] daily loss of life through gunshot. This, if enough people do the same and enough people finally decide that it's time to try to effect a real reduction in gun deaths, may result in just that: a significant reduction in deaths by gunshot in my country.

That -- enough people making their desire known -- is the sole way I know to achieve a real result. Given the political polarization extant and the various pressures and inducements which federal legislators face, I cannot even hazard a guess as to just how many people that would be. I do know that at present, it's not yet enough.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well . . . 'n un-shot.

What it really needs is for gun manufacturing to go overseas and stop buying Congress critters

    For you, it is overseas.

    Buying Congress critters? Like bribes?

    Illegal.

the people causing the problems don't care and the people who own guns but don't cause problems get sick of "solutions" that appear only to be designed to harass them and not deal with criminals

what is really needed is for those who are overseas to mind their own business and stop telling us Americans how we should run OUR country when their own countries tend to be inferior to ours

    Hi, once again.

The phrase 'deal with criminals' presupposes that an illegal and perhaps violent use of a firearm has already taken place. Is it not better to prevent the action rather than deal with it after it has happened?

no, I don't believe in punishing a million people and hoping it might stop 5-6/ I don't believe in prior restraint. I believe in sure and swift punishment to deter people either by the fear of punishment or actual incarceration. I totally oppose telling honest people they need to be restricted from doing harmless things (like owning 30 round magazines) and pretending those who are willing to commit first degree murder will somehow be deterred

    Hi once more.

I believe we've pretty much reached the end of our conversation on this.

Wishing you and yours the very best.

Many gun advocates feel "harassed" by not being able to hunt deer with Thompsons or unable to have a BoFors emplacement in their backyard.

Please tell us what kind of gun control measures you might be FOR. How should we be "dealing with criminals using guns".

But why is it okay for Americans to tell everyone else how to run their countries? Especially when some of our countries are far superior to the US when it comes to having stable democracies.

We did that - it is almost impossible for a criminal not part of a criminal gang to get a gun in Australia

How did going out and talking the criminals out of their guns work out?

Oh no. It looks like the criminals didn't even give their guns away, it was the dumbest citizens who did! They left themselves open as soft targets. Who would have ever thought criminals would suddenly not obey a law? What kind of crazy is this???

that's nonsense and hysterical hyperbolic BS. I want criminals who harm others with guns to sleep with the fishes or die in prison

how can anyone with a brain make that claim? I support honest people having the means and ability and legal sanction to shoot violent criminals who try to harm them. I train people to have those skills. I want violent criminals locked away for long periods of time. I want to empty the jails of non-violent criminals while giving violent mopes the max

The laws you support make it much easier for violent criminals to get guns.

that’s the exact opposite of what he’s supporting. Read it again.

It doesn't matter what he says he supports As long as he supports laws which make make guns more abundant he is making it easier for criminals to get them

no one is supporting laws that make it easier for criminals to get guns, you’re merely repeating the same illogical accusation.
Criminals don’t obey laws. That’s the reason the rest of us stay armed.
