And this is where the issue arises, conservatives are basically saying that the rights of the fetus overrule the rights of the mother but the rights of the mother do not overrule the rights of the fetus. The problem is a fetus does not have any rights, it is not classified as a citizen for birthright citizenship doctrine, it is not insurable, it cannot exist on its own, until it takes its first breath it is not a person even according to religious texts.

Generally, liberals fail to understand autonomy and believe incorrectly that one must be sentient in order to exercise one's own autonomy. This is why Liberals have argued for some child protection laws(which still aren't sufficient) while at the same time they don't go all the way to destroy parental autonomy over the child. Which would be the logical conclusion of the abortion argument.(Since the child is perceived to not have the age of consent for the most part until 16 or 18 and this infers more than sexual laws, but drinking, driving, etc.) But autonomy is not based on sentience, but rather biology. The fetus as it's developing has a separate brain, separate lungs, hell the oxygen system by the near end-of-term is meant obviously to be able to breathe on its own upon completion of the pregnancy. So let's be blunt: Whether we assign personhood to a fetus/zygote or not, its autonomy is not biologically in question. The female body hosts the life organism, but it is *not* the life organism itself.
