I know what it is, but your point is still a mystery.

Why do you think so many want a small government? Really the only thing that our federal government should be making laws on is those listed in Article 1 Section 8. Everything else should be up to the States.

I suppose 9 guys in robes making life decisions for everyone is "small government". Full dictatorship is even smaller, with just one guy making all decisions.

You made the claim that he made his ruling based on his religious beliefs. You made the affirmative statement. I asked you to prove that affirmative statement. I don't have to prove anything. You do.

The topic is about a ruling they will consider in the future (contraception and homosexuality)

pretty obvious that this fight is a religious fight by religious fanatics

but why do you think this Christian fanatic is talking about reversing course on contraception and same gender Marriage?

And? What kind of ruling do you think that they can possibly make on it? You DO know that SCOTUS can only strike down or uphold current laws right? They cannot make law?

That is nothing more than a leftwing talking point. There are plenty of people out there that don't follow ANY religion and yet are still pro-life. Like it or not, there are scientifically valid reasons to be against abortion.

So again, prove that Thomas made his ruling based on his religious beliefs. We both know you can't. Which is why you continually make assertions rather than offering up anything that comes close to proof.

I agree with the decision to end Roe V Wade. I view abortion as homicide. Sending the power over abortion to the states is a half measure in my view. However, I don't agree with the idea that contraception is the same thing. If there is no conception then there is no developing human. So I don't agree with Thomas in this. I think same sex marriages should have been termed same sex legal unions carrying the same legal rights as married couples. It is wholly appropriate for gay people to love and join in permanent relationships. Unlike Thomas, I am not religious so my moral character comes from common sense rather than from religious teachings. I should mention that the Roe decision specifically stated that it was not about contraception.

Its pretty obvious the talk about going after contraceptives and homosexuals is nothing but a display of religious authoritarianism. Its straight from pages of the Old Testament and Quran.

    Absolutely.

That’s actually the glory of it. Those “9 guys in robes” prevent your tyrannical ONE guy from crapping on the rest of us. I’d prefer those 9, to that ONE tyrant.

Prove that he wants to ban either of those. Hint: Saying that past decisions should be looked at =/= wanting to ban. No matter how many times you insinuate or outright state otherwise.

Not my job. Again, you made an affirmative statement. The onus is on you. Not me. What part of that do you not understand?

The MCOTUS will no more stop contraception than they will stop abortions in this country.... we aren't going back to 1950 (or 1850, where Thomas would likely be owned by somebody)

Also, just curious.... does this ****head realized his job is to rule on current cases before the court, not ask for cases to be sent to the court??

A more political set of activists you will never find...

Probably for the same reason they lose their voting rights. We live in a country which has laws as its foundation. The very opening "We the people of the United States . . . " makes it clear that we voluntarily subject ourselves to the laws of the land. Violating those societal rules has consequences. No "rights" are absolute. Some are just common sense rules. Others more complicated, but all are meant to protect We the people. Which sometimes means your toes are going to be stepped on if you ignore my fundamental rights.

Why are you having a difficult time understanding the SC didn't make a decision for anyone. What they did was return making a decision back to the States where it always belonged. This is a great victory for real Democracy!

Here's a pretty solid article on the events of the past 2 days, that I completely agree with, with this particular money shot

    SNIP
They seem oblivious to the fact that they have, this day, announced the death of the Supreme Court. It may come in a month, or in a couple years, but it’s coming. Self-inflicted.
    ENDSNIP

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/nc-scholar-democracy-calls-supreme-115737020.html

It certainly was a curious institution while it lasted..... I wonder what comes next??

    Hoping it's the Hunter Court...

They have already heard it, and when they do go into immediate denial.

You are confused about the topic. This is not about abortion.

Topic: "Justice Thomas: SCOTUS should reconsider contraception, same-sex marriage rulings"

It doesn't have anything to do with Democracy. On the contrary, if there was a popular vote over the matter, then it would be Democracy, but these things are being decided by 9 guys in robes.
