And I ask you, why chastise me for something I did not do? I did not whine; rather, I pointed out that Sec was extremely sparing in his own coverage, of the thing for which he was faulting the mainstream media, for not devoting more time to covering.

I then offered a reasonable guess, as to the rationale behind such a glancing SNIP, of something for which the OP was advocating fulsome fireworks.

I hope I was able to clarify the obvious for you, XXJeff, with this recap.

there is another thread on this, in essence simply not locking people up means cops tired of revolving door..cartels still control drug manufacture and distribution and everything but the kitchen sink is in those drugs, not a valid test or anything just a half-a$$d measure...need legal controlled distribution of pure drugs

I traveled to Portland last year, and found it to be a real dump. Drug addicted homeless people everywhere you looked, the stench was unbearable. When I posted about it, one of our PF members here explained to me that the people in the tent cities were out of work lumberjacks who were all right wingers and Trump supporters. He said he knew that to be true because he heard them playing Rush Limbaugh on their radios. lol

It hadn't gotten any better when I was there earlier this year. I travel a lot for work and pleasure and of all the cities I've been to Portland is one of the worst in regards to poverty and being run down. Stores with signs expressing their virtue begging not to be robbed and looted are commonplace. An amazing amount of homeless people. Broken glass, boarded up stores, and tent communities all over the place. When you get close to the courthouse where the rioting took place most of the stores were still boarded up and much of the broken glass still not cleaned up. The city needs a major reset. The Marxists killed the city. It's a shame because a lot of the rioters aren't even from Portland proper. They just came into the city to destroy it because they knew the mayor wouldn't mind and would support them.

yet the issue started under Trump, before that even passed?

the abuse exists legal or not.... sure arrest drug addicts that commit crimes

but we can't arrest people just relaxing after a hard days work or having some fun during their days off

a big problem is once you have a record, it's hard to get a job, and they care less about getting new records as they already have one... and now it's well known how hard it is to bust someone for a small crime like this, and it's not a huge sentence if you are caught

things have to change now, just like they change for airlines after 9-11, now that people know it can be done, it will be done more if not addressed

the question is what to do, do we want to raise taxes to put people stealing less than $100 in prison for years, what do we do

and your attempt went down in flames

    snips are just that, snips

you are welcome to read the entire article or go right into a response without facts, but just opinion. You chose the latter, which was your prerogative.

Great point. So if people can sue gun makers for gun deaths, can people sue the needle makers for overdoses?

It's the same all down the west coast. The warmer it is the worse it is. Add drugs and it just compounds the problems. But that's part of the DNC narrative, dependency is the top tool the DNC uses to control their flock..

you forgot demonizing anyone with an opposing opinion. If you don't vote Democrat then you are a racist Xenophobe, homophobe, pedophode, transphobe, science-denier.

As one living in a west coast state but 100 miles by air from the ocean I can say that you are right. I live in an outlier rural region of California and we are often mocked by the press in the big coastal cities when we make their news at all. We actually got one of us rural community people to run against Newsom for Governor, Brian Dahle our state Senator.

Well, perhaps our two concepts of rationality diverge broadly, here, but if a person who is a supporter of something, doesn't treat that thing as if it is really worth promoting, I take my cue from what I deem to be either that lack of enthusiasm, or lack of sincerity.

It would be akin, in my mind, to your telling me what a great candidate we had running in our district, for whom I should vote. But when I'd asked you to highlight their vision, for me, you did no more than refer me to the website.

Hey, there are way too many websites to look at, most of which, I consider not worth my time. If someone is promoting one of them, for any reason, I need to be "sold," on at least the idea that it
may wind up, not being a complete waste of time.

BTW, you also fail to give any basis for your characterizing my asking you for more details, as going "down in flames." Certainly, I did receive no positive response from you, but I would find it odd to classify that, the way you did. It was not as if I were asking you out, on a date.

The terminology you used, would normally be asserted about someone's
argument. If this is what you were trying to imply, that is a laughably low bar, you are setting for yourself, in order to claim victory.

Again, you are welcome to read the article. You are also welcome to dispute the fact that the city has had Democrat leadership for quite some time.

Despite your attempts at eloquent deflection, your posts really are quite transparent. I find it sad that Democrat voters will attack messengers before ever admitting that perhaps Democrat policies fail the people.

If I give you the benefit of the doubt which any reasonable person would need have had, about me-- which you did not extend, in your post, above-- and I assume that you are not openly dissembling, I must conclude that you have diminished capacity for considering opposing arguments, at least on this issue.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of articles which
you are at liberty, and, "welcome to, read," which you have, nevertheless, not read. Maybe we just come from two different worlds, but if I care enough about something to start a thread about it, and I know of compelling evidence that vindicates my position, I am going to provide that info, in a SNIP. I fail to see any rational reason why someone in that position, would not do so.

If it comes as news to you, many people here, represent sources as proving things which they, in fact, do not. So I am not going to spend all my free time, reading online articles, for no other reason than that, related to some article, anyone has made an unsupported claim.
