    (as is RW media)

    They jump at every "leak", "allegation" and the ones that are false take away any credibility for the ones that they report are true

    How can they talk about that without mentioning that he invited them there, incited them with a bald-faced lie about Pence's authority and NOW we know he knew they were armed and did nothing to get the Capitol officers and lawmakers any back-up?

    Your bombs are just empty metal casings. Nobody needs to watch the hearings for them to be effective or get the truth out there. Judging them based on TV ratings is silly. I never watched a second of the OJ trial, the recent Depp/Heard trial, or any trial whatsoever. And yet, because I watch the news and use social media(though this wouldn't have counted for the OJ trial), I always knew/know what's happening in them.

    Even if the only people tuning into the hearings where the reporters and bloggers who then go on to write about it, the information gets out there. It's the information that makes the difference. The hearings are just a way to provide that information.

    No one is watching because they are a joke. It is nothing but an infomercial of BS setup by democrats in an election year. Anyone who takes them seriously is just fooling theirself.

    The metal detectors. That's another story that doesn't pass the smell test by a long shot. Trump, as you may or may not know, held a whole bunch of rallies during his campaign and every one of them had metal detectors. The idea that he wouldn't want or even care about them at the DC event is ludicrous.

    No one is watching because hearings are boring no matter what the topic is, and they don't even need to watch them to get the relevant information.

    I have to assume(incorrectly?) that you subscribe to Trump's stolen election fantasy, so of course you take the view that the hearings aren't important and shouldn't be taken seriously. You're expected to, nay, required to, in order to maintain your MAGA membership. Any deviation from the official MAGA storyline is grounds for dismissal.

    Don't believe me? Go around to all your MAGA friends and acquaintances and tell them you don't think the election was stolen, and that Trump pretty much made the whole thing up to defend his bruised ego and raise money from people. You don't even have to believe it, just do it as a test. See what happens.

    81.1 million people voted for Biden. 74 million for Trump. Total: 155.1 million voters. If you're voting then you must be at least slightly politically aware, even if just a bare minimum. Yet these hearings aren't even getting a tenth of the voters awareness.

    Those that aren't watching (pretty much anyone with a full time job) are getting replays and highlights. The information is getting out, no matter how much the pro tRump rag doesn't want you to know that.

    I don't think the effect will be felt in 2022. Trump is not up for election this year. The hearings are mostly about him, not the entire GOP. But the hearings may very well make him a too toxic for 2024, which is the outcome I'm extremely hopeful for. It's the best outcome that can be asked for.

    As far as 2022, the repeal of Roe will have a far bigger effect than the hearings will.

    And no one cares. That is what Democrats don't want you to know. Most consider what happened on Jan 6 as "a protest that went too far" per a CBS poll....though they tried to bury those results. (I call it a riot).
