Denounce him for what? He got a news report partly wrong. All the weird **** surrounding Sandy Hook actually happened. It looked like an operation, and Jones/Infowars wasn't the only one to call it that. He's just the only one getting sued for calling it that. I wonder if CNN will get sued now for saying Iraq had WMDs...
There isn't any. His 'guilty' verdict is based on a default- Jones didn't comply with the order to provide the court in discovery with the documentation of his marketing plan to get rich selling the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory. Nevermind that theres no evidense that such a plan ever existed... he's guilty of failing to provide the court with proof of his guilt, and the judge has ordered he will be held in contempt if he tells the jury that this documentation wasn't provided because it doesnt exist.
Eventually truth will out. Unfortunately Mr. Jones has been the troop leader and posterboy for those looking for "alternative realities" ...apparently there is some psychological tendance in some to want to deny reality and fabricate their own . It can be fun...did we really land on the moon etc, but it can be dangerous...Brexit will ensure eternal happiness and a national revival of à golden age of independent achèvement. The mistakes are already apparent. And are heading for national décline. I suspect à quick way to make money when you aren't veryccapable of doing much that is useful and productive, is to do what fairground charlatans used to do...séances, sleight of hand tricks etc. They are curious and people invest in them, both financially and mentally. The former can be recovered. Not sure about the latter.
Ummmm….and how much ink have right-wingers wasted on Hunter’s laptop…..? Tell you what…I’ll see you Hunter’s laptop and raise you moron Jones’s cell phone…!
Thus post belongs in the conspiracy section. What happened at Sandy Hook, actually happened. Let alone attacking the victims families. And you call others hateful. Jones is going to get what he deserves and still has hell to look forward to.
Lying under oath is still a crime, whether in a civil or criminal case.... and apparently Jones told one that was "accidentally" disproven by his own lawyer... Ooopsie SNIP Legal experts told Insider that Jones undeniably opened himself up to potential perjury charges as a result of his lawyer's error. If Jones did lie about the existence of text messages referring to the shooting, the court would consider it perjury. A crime like that could easily lead to criminal prosecution against Jones, Rahmani said. "This is potentially a very big deal," the lawyer said. "And ultimately, if Alex Jones perjured himself, his legal problems are just beginning." ENDSNIP https://www.yahoo.com/news/alex-jones-could-face-perjury-001144948.html This is what happens when a liar takes the stand... be forewarned, MAGA's.....
Oh that's horseshit. Walk into any airport and yell you have a bomb. Let us know how that works out for ya.
I doubt he'll face time for it. I once thought judges would enforce perjury until the first time a witness blatantly, demonstrably, lied on the stand for their own gain and the judge just did not give a ****. Which while dumb is protected speech. Which his lawyer is going to lose their law license and owe jones money over. Not that funny really.
I really wish you laypersons would learn the fire in a crowded theatre case has long been overturned. Muh fire in a crowded theatre is a tired and legally incorrect argument.
Incitement is not protected by the 1st amendment, ergo no it is not "speech" in the term of art sense.
Nope.... still funny... since any money Jones gets for the rest of his miserable life will simply be forwarded on... I suspect this judge will give a ****, since it was so obviously disproven right in front of her...in real time.... hilariously...
"Prosecutors in Texas will ultimately make the final decision on whether or not Jones should be charged. If Travis County District Court Judge Maya Guerra Gamble — who admonished Jones several times during his testimony earlier this week — was to make a referral in the case, prosecutors would be even more likely to pursue a criminal case again Jones, according to Rahmani. "If the referral happens, it's very very likely that Alex Jones will be prosecuted," the lawyer said. And even if it doesn't, I think this is such an outrageous lie, that it's a very easy perjury case that I would expect Texas prosecutors to pick up."
He handed over financial records and internal messaging data. What specifically did he not turn over? Do you know?
Jones is where he is because he refused to hand over his financial etc. records during discovery in all 3-(4?) cases filed against him by the parents. t
You seem to be a tad behind the latest news cycle... his lawyer "accidentally" turned over the messaging data that Jones said didn't exist... See post #83
I am not an advocate of prison sentences for non-violence. I think it is better for a convicted person to have community service that fits the crimes for which they were convicted. For examples, Inner-city hospital in the children's ward (let him see what it's like to have loved ones worry about their sick/dying child). Suicide hotline. Shadow a police dispatcher to hear the calls that come in (which will include shootings). Work in a hospital ER large enough to have multiple shooting victims. He abused his Freedom of Speech - work with deaf and mute people. Attend community support groups for the loved ones of murder victims. Work in a morgue. Work in a funeral home required to attend wakes and burials. I also believe that education is very important. Just housing criminals doesn't help them become law-abiding citizens when they are released.
In order for this to be true there must be evidence that a record exists that was not turned over. Which record has he not turned over? This is an honest question because I haven't seen anyone address it.
Did this occur after the default judgement? I'm trying to figure out what his default judgement was based on. I don't know all of the facts of this case because I haven't followed it. I'm curious as to the legal process that got him to where he is.
