Racism is a belief that people of a different race than you are inferior. People who think, for instance, that black and brown folks need to have different "scoring systems" to account for their lack of "privilege", are racists. Those who think people of color are not capable of figuring out for themselves how/when/where to go vote, or cannot get a government ID, are racists. There are many examples of racism; the belief that people of a different race than you are inferior. And they are not confined to any one political ideology. Real, old school, KKK style, racial hatred is very rare in this country now,

Excellent point. Not sure I agree with the reason you say some blacks hate white folks. I'm sure that some of their racism can be driven by jealousy, but I think most blacks who hate white folks do so because they have been told their entire lives, by their parents and (primarily) democrat politicians, that their economic and social mobility; their ability to succeed, is being impeded by white people, and that they are victims. In essence, they have been conditioned to believe "the man" is holding them down, and so they have no opportunity to achieve success. It is natural to hate those who are victimizing you. Regardless, you're right. Feelings that people of other races are inferior is not the only reason that they exhibit racism.

I'm not telling anyone how to think and I'm certainly not telling anyone how to vote. I'm just giving information and opinion based on my knowledge and experience in direct response to the question you asked on an open forum. I'm sure that if I'd given the answer you wanted to hear, you wouldn't care less who or where I am. Sure, because Americans don't pontificate or interfere in other countries at all. I can multitask though, so I'm perfectly capable of commenting on this thread and discussing UK specific issues elsewhere too. Fair enough, maybe I wasn't as clear as I could have been about that. I don't think it's as simple or one-sided as you make it out to be but sure, Democratic politicians commonly target black voters because they're often seen as a singular block vote that can be won over en masse. The deeper question is why black voters remain a largely singular block vote, why they're certainly seen that way and why much of that block has for so long not voted for Republicans? The thing with racism at this fundamental level is that it is rarely a simple case of "That person thinks poorly of this group and so takes those bad actions". That is a function of the multiple generations of racial division runs as a thread through modern society (not just in the US, though sometimes more starkly there), impacting all sorts of policies and actions. Even if something is nominally positive or neutral, it can still be a function or consequence of that underlying racism problem. That is why questions like "Which of these political parties is more racist?" are flawed and overly simplistic if you really want to address racism. Of course, if you're actually just trying to push the "My party is great! Your party is evil!" answer, they can be unfortunately effective, but that's a function of societal racism too. I agree that both of those organisations (or groups of organisations and hangers-on) are generally bad, though I don't think there is the definitive underlying reason you mention. A major part of the problem with these things is that the people involved didn't all have the same underlying motives or end game. I'm not sure that's specifically related to your question anyway, since though racism is one of the issues they built themselves on, it wasn't a key necessity to the actual intentions (whatever they exactly were). It was an easy lever for them to abuse though, precisely because of how bad the whole political environment in the US is at actually dealing with it's racism problems. Which takes us back to my initial response. Feel free to ignore or dismiss my post. I'm not expecting to magically change your mind but someone might see my words and at least consider the bigger picture.

I'm against capital punishment. Which most Conservatives are for. You're trying to do more than just voice your opinion, but we can pretend and go with that for now. Nice deflection by the way. However, "Knowledge" without Truth, means nothing. 2. so you're perfect, and you're going to blame others, and not take any blame yourself. You're deflect deflect deflect, therefore taking off spotlight off you, and the subject for which I brought up, yet again. You changing the subject. 3. the truth, that most people don't want to say is this; Most American Black people vote Democrat, because the Democrats pander to them in certain ways. Illegal drugs, Food stamps, for which they sell for cash. social security, or disability, and cheating taxpayers out of tens of millions or hundreds of millions of dollars each year. Considering 2-3rds of the prison system is black or hispanic, this explains a lot. Drugs, can easily get women to do things they wouldn't normally do, therefore giving black men all the kitty they want. Black people are very materialistic. Sex is very important to them. Their swinger, screw anything cheating type ways, has intentionally been injected into American society for the Democrat Politicians Agenda. To Break up Families in America. On average, how many black fathers stick around? not to many. Democrat Politicians new such things, and new that sooner or later, it would spread like a wildfire, and spread to many other ethnicities. Just look at how many people talk like they're black now? terms like baby mommas, and babies daddy. slang terms. Many of that, came from the black culture, and people are afraid to talk about it, for they don't wish to be labelled a racist. 16 and pregnant. mtv, vh1, and now CMT. All teach little girls, that if they don't look and act like a porn star, then they're not cool, and or pretty. Twerking. Music telling little girls to twerk, is sick. The truth of the matter is, that Democrat Politicians will easily sell out anyone of their voters, for more voters. their minorities, women, blacks, it doesn't matter, as long as they win, that is all that matters to them, despite any morality. At least the republican party has some standards, and some morality. Self-identity. Trans. If a person thinks that they are, they can be on paper, and legally. Which actually takes away and dishonors women, and blacks. How can one be proud to be black or a biological woman, if anyone can be, simply because they "think" they're one of those groups of people? I also look at the facts. Abe Lincoln was a Republican who freed the slaves, and the KKK was started by Democrats, and yet anytime the liberal democrats talk about the kkk they always say it's republicans? that doesn't make any sense. Also, at least some, or many racists are antisemites, hating Jewish people, and yet Trump obviously isn't an antisemite, when he has a Jewish son-in-law, and made Jerusalem the capital of Israel. That's just the facts, logic, and morality. so it gets exhausting when American democrats constantly only use racism as a strategic tactic. 4. Whilst you do live in another country, and do tend to lean towards an American Democrat point of view, I do give you some respect, for being more detailed than about 90percent or more of your other fellow Democrat thinkers on here. Plus, you're not completely biased, and you seem to have some objectivity, which is good, for both sides of the spectrum to have at least some what, to get anything done. With animals, and the death penalty, I'm definitely not Conservative by any means. I would never be an activist for the left by any means either though.
Are you familiar with the expression "doing the right thing for the wrong reasons"? Some on the religious and extreme right support Jews and Israel not because they love Jews or Israel, but because they hate Muslims. They see Jews and Israel as allies because they automatically assume that Jews and Israelis must hate Muslims. This is two-pronged racism, actually. To be clear, I'm quite sure that most Republicans don't belong to the category above. Trump didn't make Jerusalem the capital of Israel, it already was, since 1948.
