So, Kansas, which is one of the reddest States in the country, voted on the issue of abortion, and the results show they are actually pro-abortion. Why such change of heart after years of talking about abortion being "baby murder" / "killing of babies"? Were the babies in the center of the issue, or was issue only a political tool?

    So far I have heard:

The pro-choice position lied even though the pro-forced birth groups were caught in many lies trying to trick people

They faked the vote — Republicans are playing this with every vote they don’t like the outcome

America has no soul (my personal favorite one)

People that vote Republican are moderately pro-choice, this can be proven by polls. The issue is their representatives are further and further right wing wannabe fascists. Gerrymandering, FPTP, and our primary system has caused this.

Nobody is pro-abortion. We are pro-CHOICE.

They are liars and hypocrites. There are ex-felons and drug addicts moaning about other criminals and drugs addicts peppered all over social media.

Well, maybe it's time that we implement some kind of rule that one can't vote against something they've done or paid to be done.

If they don't like abortions, they shouldn't have them or finance them but they shouldn't have the right to dictate what somebody else can do with HER body.

Because an embryo isn't a fetus.
Because fetus is not a baby.

And the abortion -top of my head- is actually about aborting an embryo.

While LOADS of people are scared out of their minds that Kansas ends up to be some sharia state where your 10 year old daughter might possible is forced to give birth when uncle Bob raped her. It's a theme where a 10 year old is regarded as a breed machine, an object whose emotions are non existent or totally irrelevant at best. And this theme of regarding women as a breed machine with no options to do with their lives about a embryo, is frankly insane.

Kansas has always been the outlier in relation to abortion - it was where George Tiller had his “late term abortion clinic” and anyone who knows anything about late term abortions realise that the overwhelmingly prominent reason for them is foetal abnormality incompatible with life. tiller was murdered at church - something that did the so called “pro-life” cause very few favours

Because they were always in favour of this, you just stereotype the GOP as always being in favour of banning abortion, they were no such thing

Nearly half the abortions in Kansas are on women from other states. Apparently they like the money coming in. Baby murder is big business.

Why do you call it “baby murder” when it is not?

IMO they are cool with murdering babies, - I mean abortion, and the whole opposition in the past has been nothing but political football. Now they have fumbled the football, and have to find something else to earn the evangelical vote. Based on the comments the next target is gay marriage, but its nowhere near as valuable as abortion was. Many evangelicals were one-issue voters and abortion was that issue.

Ignorance, lying to get what they want , inflaming others with lies to get what they want, having no good excuse to destroy women's rights so have to resort to distortion and making women look as bad as possible... ...

    How many women?
How many young usually healthy women are you willing to see die?

I don't want anyone to die. I say "murdering babies" because its the language we have been hearing from the anti-abortion crowd, but all of a sudden they voted to allow it. What happened to putting your vote where your mouth is?

I am pro-life, but I believe the only way to reduce abortions is to help women avoid unplanned pregnancies in the first place

Which means supporting in depth sex eduction, empowerment classes and free or at least subsidised access to LARCs - I notice none of that is on the Republican agenda

Why are you ashamed to call it what it is? It's not like sociopaths are going to kick you put of their treehouse for being factual.

Being against abortion was their agenda, and it bought them a mountain of votes from single-issue evangelical voters. Now they have killed the good laying golden eggs and I don't know how they can replace it. This vote in Kansas should be a warning sign for them. Apparently this issue is drawing lot of people to the polls, and the primary turnout was about double compared to usual turnout. Also, there was a massive spike in new voter registration, and 70% of new voters were women.

Which will only hasten the coming of a third party large enough to split the Senate and Congress, regardless of the outcome. Nobody owes the GOP a damn thing, they take voters for granted same as the Democrats do their commies and deviants. The GOP already lost the black vote for the same reasons. In fact a significant percentage of the pro-abortion vote comes from racists who know black babies are murdered far out of proportion to their demographic numbers.

Is a five week old embryo really a “baby”? The vast majority of abortions occur under eight weeks - and the more open the access the earlier the majority of abortions occur. Now that is eight weeks of pregnancy bit the embryo is only 6 weeks developed

But here is a question for you - how many women? How many women are you willing to see die to save these “babies”?

    So do men

Where is the condemnation of the men?
Tell you what though - how about we get all males to bank sperm and then sterilise them? That way pregnancies will be completely voluntary and a mutually agreed outcome

Hmm.. So I think you came to the market missing a few things. 1) evidence that republicans in KS did in fact vote "for abortion" here. 2) that the constitutional amendment being defeated otherwise changes the ability of future legislation to restrict or unregulated abortion in the state, and 3) the folks "changed their minds.

I know, stuff you don't actually care about, just the willingness to spam the forums with this garbage. Oh well.

If some guy shows up at a clinic demanding an abortion I'm all for criticizing him, and also having him arrested and put under observation. And yes they should be held financially responsible as well. Did you find anywhere where I said otherwise, or do you just rely entirely on strawmen in your posts?

How you go about implementing your crazy claims is up to you; nobody called for sterilizing women for having abortions, so deal with your own weird fantasies.

So what? an 'embryo' is a person by law already; just ask a criminal who has killed a baby in a pregnant woman during a crime.

Why not just legalize murdering them up the age of two or three? They aren't 'viable' by then, either.

You should really love these sociopaths and their 'scientific reasoning n stuff"; you're all about 'science', right?

Oh the Drama!!! You wish you had something.

I see you are into simplistic blame game - bet you think that those getting the abortions are teens and that they are all “late term”

Easy to play the blame game isn’t it?

What people like yourself are learning is the cost of “banning abortion “ will be dead women

    How many are too many

NOPE! The UVVA ( Unborn VICTIMS of Violence Act) did NOT deem a fetus as a legal person....it is treated as a VICTIM.....

    DUHHH, yes they are..

    Obviously you aren't....

LOL, no drama is when a person tries to present an embryo as the Gerber baby.......a total denial of facts and science
